The way cricket has come to be synonymous with India, many might find it hard to believe
that the cricket as a sport didn't actually originate there.
Today, the Indian Premier League, India's cricket body, is worth $10.9 billion, a decacorn
in its own rights.
The IPL is also the second most valuable sporting league in the world falling between
America's National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball valued at $16 billion
and $10.7 billion respectively.
Plus, during the pandemic when most businesses were recording massive losses, the IPL
was so successful it nearly doubled its revenue, going from $300 million in 2019 to $550
million in 2020.
