I have a question that some of you viewers may be able to answer? When you cutting and moving as much steel as these cutters are moving how in the world do you keep the cutter tip cool enough to keep working? I would think heat build up would kill them in no time?
@ChrisMaj
@ChrisMaj 3 года назад
Some of the inserts these days work better without cooling. If you get your feed and speed correct all of the heat should go with the chips.
@richardperry3020
@richardperry3020 3 года назад
Heat is evacuated in the chips/swarf leaving the tooling and piece being machained cool
@atvheads
@atvheads 2 года назад
@@ChrisMaj That is right. But heat also make the part expand, so it get hard to keep tolerances etc. I prefere coolant most times.
@straighttracker101
@straighttracker101 2 года назад
I think they turned off the coolant for clarity purposes, The cutter inserts are carbide and they are probably tough enough to withstand one machining cycle without coolant.
