Nice. I've considered it for extended time-lapse stuff. I easily get over two hours shooting a 4K, 2 second interval time-lapse video with the normal battery on my H6. This thing... maybe over 24 hours.

I have had mine for a while now and and has worked great for my GoPro Hero 5 black, but I have recently tried to take my GoPro Hero 6 black out on my kayak fishing trips and found out that it causes it to overheat and corrupt my files. It will only record about five minutes before overheating and I'm only recording at 1080p at both 120fps and 30fps will still cause it overheat! So I'm not quite sure what's going on with that. I got a hold of GoPro text today and they informed me that external battery packs and the use of the GoPro app on my phone will cause it to overheat. Never had problems with my GoPro 5 before. They also informed me that the use of an external battery charging while recording will also damage your GoPro and your battery, never seen that posted anywhere on RU-vid!

The other flaw with other battery packs (not all of them) is you can't use the LCD screen. The only thing I wish was it wasn't so large and bulky. This is as far as using it in a chest harness or mounting on top of fuel cap of a motorcycle. This is ideal for shooting long exposures though. Sold out on Amazon.com though.

Omg. I am so glad your video came on my watch list. I love my GoPro Hero Black 6 but the battery life sucks. I thought I was going to have to purchase more batteries, make sure that they are all charged, and then use my GoPro and bring extra batteries. Since seeing your video I went to Amazon and added it to my list of electronics. Thanks for making the video. 😁

I have one for my GoPro hero 7 black and it works for me. I haven't tested the waterproof rating yet (a little nervous to try it)

It's not 9 continuous hours. You aren't able to record while it's charging, it stops the charging process when it is so you have to wait for it to charge until recording again.

The only issue I have had with the re fuel is it makes your gopro get hot and in hot weather it will shut it down. Thats the only issue I have had with this unit. I wish they had built in a fan to keep everything cool. Other than that its great for a colder climate area.

Hi Kyle. Great Review! This might be my solution for the behind the net cams for my kids hockey games. Do you think it is too heavy to be stuck to the glass for 60 minutes on a suction cup mount?

Peter Malevris I’m pretty sure it will stick on pretty well. Reason one is because a suction cup really sticks on to glass. But if you stick it to glass for 60 minutes you might need to adjust it after 40 minites

I have a hero 5 session and every time I use it I have to reconnect. Such a pain. It never recognize it and I have to do the new camera setting.

The battery pack is a good idea. Unfortunately i have (with my GoPro 7) a lot of recording errors when I use it. Recording starts and stops a 2 seconds later. Sometimes my GoPro is repair the recording. Other times, the recording stops and starts again shortly thereafter. I do not understand the reason. Is it normal that only 3 LEDs light up when the battery pack is fully charged?

This is very good concept but extremely poor executions. I have 3 for Hero 7 Black. I returned 3 to store and received replacements, but all hinges are broken of again now. I used glue gun patch ups and Gorilla Tape on the main latch plus rubber bands. I wish they beefed it up. There is no reason why the latch lugs to be such minimalistic

MY gopro 7s have been failing freezing and glitching ever since I started using these. Worse coming back to a camera after a sporting event and seeing it recorded nothing. Anyone having the same problem? I have 3 7s, all the same problem, all using Refuel extended battery

I emailed Re-Fuel and they answered me that they don´t ship to Europe and suggested bestbuy.com (they don’t ship to Europe) and bhphotovideo.com and they can’t ship to Europe due to carrier regulations regarding products with Litium batteries) 😩. Mizco International isn’t

We really just need a waterproof USB solution. The X~PWR-H5 solution is a good attempt, but flimsy and not waterproof. Looking forward to a simple USB waterproof solution.

I am 5 years user of Gopro , and my Hero 5 Got water leaked to front display , i am very disappointed from gopro and their support , they called me lair and reject my case in a very rude way. I saw soooo many people getting same issue and gopro turning them back and they only accept some people with early warranty , ( Only some ).

I used the Re-Fuel for a while on a jetski but the mount they supply are just too weak. The frame itself is also made of very thin plastic and also will fail at several points just inserting and removing the camera. Sorry, great idea, but built too cheap to last except for an occasional user. Love them to make it stronger as it worked well when not broken.

Yes, you can; I use thin-foil (mini- & micro-)usb extensions to get the USB power-connector outside the waterproof-case (thin-foil does not break the seal) and then use any regular USB powerbank (including waterproofed ones). Which works with any camera, including GoPro's (I still use Hero 4's occasionally). That does not take away that Re-Fuel solutions are quite solid for the purpose. But quite expensive to some of us outside the US of A.

Not sure I understand what you exactly mean, sorry! Maybe you can elaborate a bit on what you mean? Thanks! As for what our experiences are: We used the GP5 and it failed on us quite early on. We also used the GP6 and it also had issues and had to be replaced twice. Granted, we start using them on almost release-day/very early, later-on GoPro did resolve some of the issues, apparently. I guess we were perhaps too eager or expected too much early on. (compared to our GP4 Black's which always worked flawlessly. And kudos for GP's Support, they were back in the days always an excellent help) But as we were constraint to production-time so had to make choices what our working-kit had to be. We really felt let down by the GP5's and later on the GP6's we used. We thus had to look for alternatives and starting using Garmin Ultra 30, next to Sony's FDR-X3000R's (and a few FDR-X1000VR) and those did for us the job quite well. And recently started using the Garmin Virb 360 because of some customer's project. Of those various models we use several units, we use 3x Pelicases 1615 to haul around our action cam-kits.
