@@georgeblanco4517 well you're wrong. this isnt even rocky's official mixtape, it's a song compilation put together by some site based in London, even rocky talked about it in some older interview, you can find it if you want. live love asap is rocky's first official mixtape, and not something made by fan of his

Them early 2010s vibes, man Rocky, Kendrick, Drake, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, Big K.R.I.T, Danny Brown, Wale, Wayne, Em, Ye, & more was running shit. 10 years later, no one compares to these dudes
Same here this mixtape came out right when I was in grade 9. I was bumping it throughout high school, and still bumping it rn. It has everything for me. Clams casino a huge inspiration, rocky too. Jeeze man what a mixtape!
I feel this mixtape is criminally underrated. This atmospheric, swirly sounds really started a movement. I played the fuck outta this throughout 2012 and this video reminded how much I loved Rocky's first 2 projects. You can still play any of these songs today in the car, or at a party and they will go so hard. This is a classic for sure.
🎵This is one of the best mixtapes or albums I have ever heard. I am older and into 90's hip hop, I hardly listen to any current artists but I love Asap Rocky. 🎶 He's got this old school vibe and he is multi-talented. I love his music videos and the fact that he directs or co-directs them. I like the way he puts work into his projects and when he features on other artists songs, I always love his effort.
1:06 Rocky brings it up because he got a LOT of shit around that time for sounding like he was from New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, etc.; as if he was only allowed to sound like a stereotypical New York rapper or something. It’s nice that rappers are boxed in like that much less now. Glad you gave this a listen, I still play Peso like its new.
Someone you need to hear that is on another level and breaking through making amazing albums is Smino! The flows, wordplay, bars, singing, it’s beautifully unique and pushing new stuff in the right direction
Now, finally this Friday it is finally releasing on streaming. This mixtape will forever bring back so much nostalgia for so many people, I’m so glad to finally see it get the recognition it deserves. It started a whole new generation of cloud rap and is definitely one is the best mixtapes of all time. Thank you Rocky and A$AP Forever ❤️
@@jean522 facts! This mixtape will go down in history. It’s just come out 5 hours ago in Australia for me!! About to give this version its first listen front to back. Keen to hopefully hear slightly increased production on some of the goat Rocky songs. Fingers crossed!
@@NWozz034 I’m jealous of you bro. Hope you enjoyed it and made your first listen memorable ahaha. It’s a legendary mixtape. Will forever go down in history. It’s great more and more people are discovering it every day. Take care!
Still blows my mind this album is 10 years old and so timeless. High school times for me. I remember wanting to go to a drake concert to see rocky drake and kendrick since he took them on tour in the early 10's
I wrote it in the other ASAP Rocky video you did but ill say it again, I remember when this album dropped. Nobody knew much about ASAP Rocky or ASAP Mob and this mixtape was popping at all the parties. Good memories.
It’s a free mixtape, of course you won’t have it on Spotify. You can download the mixtape on your computer for free and add it to your Spotify playlist tho! If that’s too complicated for you, you can download DATPIFF. You can download all the mixtapes for free to your phone
That 'Keep It G' song is originally from a beat called 'London Blues' by SpaceGhostPurrp. One of the best beats ever made, and I don't think it gets enough credit to this day.
This was the soundtrack to summer 2012 for me. Listening to this always brings me to easier times hanging with friends, riding bmxs around the city and going to parties that went on long into the night. Good times
This album came out when I was a sophomore in high school and when I tell you it was a huge deal along with when 2014 forest hills drive came out 🤝🤝 really was like a defining moment in music
Could not click any faster. This project was monumental when it dropped. Its sound has been mimicked so much over the years that I’m sure it won’t be nearly as special for you, but never the less, always enjoy your reviews!
Literally every song is a banger! Only mixtape/album EVER to have every single song be a classic. No other project has come close to this. Name another project that doesn't have one bad song. I'll wait
Definitely hope Rocky drops something this year, especially as the Cyberpunk Track we know is coming still isnt officially released, hope we get a full blown project to shock the world once again
So happy you did this. My top 5 albums you basically done so far. WMWTSO, LIVE LOVE, LONG LIVE, FACES. Just need to do tical by method man if you’re into 90s
I remember this came out my freshman year of highschool, i was like who the fuck is this???? such a classic tape of a classic era. so many smoke sessions to this tape.
I think the big wave of innovation in rap beats came with the "innovation" in electronic music. 2009-2010 was soooo crazy when it comes to pc made music and people were spazzin out on their pcs and tried shit. There were so many artists that just tried to create stuff
Jon at 8:12 Rocky was sounding like Bone Thugs N Harmony a group from Cleveland who influenced Asap Rocky’s early flow heavy. That’s why he made the reference at the end of that line. They influenced him more if not just as much as UGK. Love the review btw! Classic project
Demons is the reason I entered my depression in high school 9 years ago... sad to say im entering it again. and coincidentally i started listening to the demons instrumental recently.
@@tbj4855 SHEESH I don’t even remember typing that comment 😂 yes! Blessed to say I did and I’m doing very well man. Time does not heal all wounds, but damn does it give you time to understand that life is what it is. Happy Thanksgiving!!! We still rockin and doing very well, hope you can say the same!
What an amazing album, still an all-time favorite of mine. Unfortunately I really doubt Rocky will top this, let’s hope I’m wrong. It’s just such a drug-infused psychedelic experience throughout, brilliant...
I remember not being a big fan of Ricky when this first came out, it actually took me years to get into his music, but dam what a creative dude he is. Clams Casino also killed it.
I heard this first in 2012 fresh out of high school and this mixtape changed my entire music taste trajectory. 2011-2014 was an exceptionally great time for hip-hop!
