Thanks a lot ! That's kind of what I was going for, for this one at least, though I intend to touch on all kinds of genres. This is my most popular video by far, so I'm wondering if I should release some more 80s Memphis style tracks
This sounds like it fits Splatoon's singleplayer but also I feel like it could be from a new Ape Escape game. The synths at the beginning really tipped me off to it.
Yeah, I noticed that too. I think some of the synth pads use a similar soundfont to Super Mario Kart (SNES) and Mario Kart 64 specifically. The SNES used a 10-channel onboard synth chip to play its music, and is popular to emulate or use directly in the chiptune scene, so would be easy to get samples from, while the N64 and a lot of consoles from its era stored the music as a compressed variant of MIDI, which is an industry standard format, and, as such, many soundfonts from decades back are still sold today.
The brass sound you're referring to is a patch I made on my Jupiter-6 Classic synth stuff you're able to do fairly easily on a synth of this calibre :)
I hope that Nintendo opens their arms to community stuffs, if only for the Splatoon franchise because between this and Colors to the Mast, the Splatoon community makes some damn BANGERS
That's actually the palette of my team, Aces Quad ! I figured if we wanna make clips or promo material it might be a good idea to use non-copyrighted music. I'll be making a few more :D
This feels like single player campaign tutorial music. Anyone else getting those vibes? It also sort of makes me think of the like doodle jump waiting room game from Splatoon 1 for some reason. Anyways, love the song!
