I have hurricane shutters but with no electricity it’s DARK inside, too hot. Thus I always opt to leave and stay i. Contact with people at my condo who stayed behind.

Dana I guess that all depends on the severity of the storm. When Francis hit and we had all those trees down and none of the gas stations had generators or even any of the stores you really needed to have seven days but since then they've put a lot of powerlines underground almost every business has a back up generator And they have pruned a lot of trees and changed out a lot of those old line poles think electricity comes on much quicker these days but you're right it's never bad to be prepared. Do you remember the fights that broke out for the gas lines or to get ice after Francis? 😳

@@PalmBeachesPaul yes I remember . I’ve lived in Tampa for 30 years and in Miami for 13 . Hoping for a quiet summer to help our insurance rates go down.

I’ve done the same thing travelled to get out of the way just to find that the hurricane turned to where I was. Bring lots of cash as in some places they lose electricity but with cash you can pay for gas, food ect.

I watch most of these channels for the pretty scenery . Maybe I'm just an old geezer now but what is mostly on these realestate and " crash" channels is just common sense. But the point about the heat is crucial ;it can dehydrate and kill you and your animals. Way worse than people think with no power or ac
