The part that intimidates me the most is the boarder sashing feature. Even though I’ve taken classes with you that show how it works, it never turns out correctly and I get lost if I mess up and try to go back to fix something.
I’m nervous about using clear thread. I recently had a problem after using monafillament thread. Found some loose extra thread before the take up lever. Had just serviced my Solaris three days prior. Thanks to you I checked my threading, bobbin and changed needle. Still did not work. My local dealer advised flossing my thread from top to below take up lever. A small piece of thread fell out.
I get nervous about starting a project on my machines. Especially something new. Sometimes I overthink and do too much reading/research - a nice delaying tactic. :-( But, once I get going I wonder why I was so nervous!
i've been sewing from a very young age so not many things do i fear about it; however it does sometimes take me a bit of time to get up the nerve to do a new technique or learning something new about my machine.
My biggest fear concerning my sewing machine is doing something stupid if I’m sewing when I’m tired and breaking something that can’t be fixed easily. I changed the plate to a straight stitch but forgot to change it back before choosing a decorative stitch. So it had to go to the shop for a couple weeks. So now I generally stop sewing before I get too tired and make careless mistakes. 🙄
I’m a little afraid of using the new couching foot on my embroidery machine…twice I have tried it and both times broke my needle, then couldn’t find the tip of the needle, so I worry about that still being in the machine somewhere.
I think my biggest fear is all the new technology that is spreading throughout the industry. I'm still hanging in there and trying my best to learn it but it just takes me longer. That and learning to use IQ designer is quite the challenge.
My biggest fear on my sewing machine is to try free motion quilting . Biggest fear on my embroidery machine is breaking a needle and doing damage to my machine 😬
What scares me the most about my machine is when I’m embroidering and the needle breaks for some reason and hits the metal embroidery foot, I’m scared I’m hurting the machine somehow 😮
Using Metallic threads... Killed my automatic threader like 3 weeks after I got my Solaris Vision last year and said never again. I have used a really thin black Swiss thread (Glitzier by Zundt Design) I used it on a halloween background, and that is it. Haven't used any thing else and I have a bunch of the King Star metallics that I keep telling myself I will use it in this or that and never do, they are all in their original wrapping... Just sad.🤣
