They call the A-10 Tank Killers because it's a CAS aircraft the A-10 was legitimately built around the 30mm GAU-8 Avenger in the nose. If you've never seen a video I highly suggest you do because a 30mm cannon at 4,000 rounds a minute with the depleted uranium rounds they put in those literally shred tanks and other armor. The A-10 is also one of the most rugged designs ever to fly. Great great aircraft. Just a little info about the A-10.

I just won an auction on eBay for this A10 Warthog! Can't wait to get it and show it off! Took me a lot of years saving to get a top shelve item like this plane. It might not be the best but everyone has dreamed of getting something like this since they were kids and now my dream has come reality! I know one thing, if i can do it, anyone can! Just hope the gods don't take it back with a huge gust of wind. It's great to be able to gloat over my plane before it arrives with your AWESOME video!!!

Pete I just wanted to add that I purchased a carbon fiber rod that would slide inside the one that comes with the kit. I extended as far as I could each way into the wing panels ,after I bored out the foam ,and then epoxied it all together. The wing does NOT flex now. Since I fly off a grass runway I had to remove the landing gear(what a shame), But it has plenty of power to just scoot off the grass in about 30-40 feet. Ron

I like this bird and have decided to purchase. Powered by twin 70mm EDF's, It's the only EDF that sounds remotely close to the turbo fans that power the real A-10. Great flying Pete.

Two things this plane needs: 1) Somehow replace the little LED Gatling gun with a system that shoots airsoft bb's. 2) Replaceable pylons on the wings to mount a camera. With those two modifications, this A-10 would be even more awesome than it already is.

WOW,I was just scrolling ,and watching different video tapes ,A little bit of everything,& as I entered A10 Warthog your video was the 1st, & only 1 I watch over many times , I have 2 agree with everything U mentioned about this fantastic Tank killer,& thank U for posting your video now I have saved it in my favorites folder 2 watch over again,When I 1st ever seen this plane in action on video I fell in love with it &would put it up against any other tank buster thanks again Gary Timberlake

Pete- LOVE the way you fly all your planes- someday I'll be able to do one of those moves! Something tells me you could fly a BRICK inverted. Maybe one day we'll get to do some dogfighting!

Awesome plane, just can't wait to get my hands on one of these beauties! Gotta say though, I think you meant they are "famous" for their un-paralelled stability. Not sure what you meant by "fragile." Perhaps "sensitive"? They called them tank killers because that's what they were designed to do. Props for mentioning it though. And totally awesome intro. Favorited!

This is one of my favorite real planes ever. The military almost got rid of this aircraft and then realized that there is no other plane that has the close in air support capabilities of this plane. It was known to have holes in the wins and tale and still make it back to base. If i was ever a billionaire I would own one as soon as it became available for civilian use.

It's both. The Thunderbolt was the original designation and the Warthog (with an A) is what the pilots called her.

Geneticallyinferior1 the gun is mounted in the right place centered on the airframe, however the front landing gear should be offset to the side. That would be thecorrect layout.

@teddypsn i can tell just from its sound that it is a supercub lp, best rc plane i ever has, forget the many edf etc, supercub for the win, was like a flying fortress, never broke badly, always would fly even in strong winds, it snapped in half so i taped it back together ad flew its demise was a chavy git who showed off by jumping on it and ripping it to pieces

I like these videos shot at Apollo 11 field better than the location at Whittier Narrows. :) BTW, if you have RealFlight simulator, the Apollo 11 field is available as a download in the Swaps Files area.

haha if you had an idea of what you were talking about. @soldierirish had it right. the nose landing gear should be offset to the aircraft right (incase you didnt know, that would be left as you were looking at the front of the jet.) the gun is mounted in the center of the jet. i know this, as i am a maintainer on them right now

When he talks about “low cost” it is relative. Actual turban powered RC planes commonly cost in the thousands of dollars. The price may be a little on the high side for this size EDF [electric ducted fan] foamies.

I just saw where the rest of my post was missing -- the other big thing is the ejectable canopy - Pete dosn't show it in this video but you can eject the pilot - (the entire cockpit) and the worm screw that make the canopy move got a little bent - I wanted to order a whole new cockpit assembly (god forbid I might loose it or some thing) was told I couldn't buy it -- So be warned - If you eject your pilot and the wind takes it up in a tree - you might be SOL -- no more cockpit for you!
