Saw this yesterday at some sidings just outside of Peterborough. I was on a train passing it so I wouldn’t of thought that you would’ve been able to see it from the station, unfortunately
I saw what I am aure was this HST set, as it was in the same livery, leaving Great Yarmouth heading towards Acle. I was on the Acle Straight heading to GY. This would have been, I think, Thursday 22nd at about 18:45 or so.
Nice vid of class 43. But I did take a note that 1 had 13 X mark 3 passenger cars making it long. The average under B.R. use to be about 8 to 10 passenger cars.
Music is my own composition based on a track I composed about 20 years ago. You can find my original in my 2011 Gallery. Neither are available commercially.
It’s a shame rail operators couldn’t have made up 12 car HSTs in UK, when I used to commute to London, the amount of times I had to stand in the vestibule, luggage areas!
Typical BR track as original or economic layout, have to get out of bed to turn over. As SBB, OBB or DB track works are to be observed, crossovers will be for track speed, both leading and trailing cross overs will be available at least every 10km or less if stations are closer, bi-directional signals and the locos have retracting mirrors for the driver. No stopping to reverse, no reverse in this instance, pass disabled units or do track works. But no investment or negative investment leaves us with what we have got? £££ and time lost.
Such a shame that those GWR coaches are going to Mexico and end up with the crap plastic class 800's with the most uncomfortable seats in the world. Well apart from the pacers, they were things from hell.
