I saw this intro in Dee's RU-vid first KH3 video and simply had to stop and marvel at this! Had to come here to give this the extra love it deserved. Absolutely fantastic, I got some chills watching!

This is dope as hell. The whole marble figurine thing, the use of black marble for things like the Org Coats, the "chess" board and pieces, they're absolutely phenomenal. And that's just the part of me that's a KH fan. As a 3D artist, this is kinda nutty. The sheer number of reflections is enough to make my PC cry. The materials are all super well made. The models at first glace seemed like just the game rips with a marble shader, but on further look, they seem too smooth to be just the ripped models, so either they were custom made or subdivided a few times, which either way, the amount of geometry is probably huge when looking at this project as a whole. Not to mention the posing for the characters is spot on. The depth of field is a nice touch too. I like the subtle touch on the Terra-Nort figurine too at 3:37, with him being black marble to show the darkness, but still having parts of white marble to show that even though he's being controlled, Terra is still in there. (At least, that's how I interoperate it, it could just be a texture thing.) Also 250 hours to render?! My PC definetly wouldn't have made it out of that safely. I gotta ask, what program(s) did you use for this, and did you render this all in one shot or in chunks? (Bonus, what shot was your favorite, either to work on or just the final product of it? Mine was probably Roxas finding Sora in his big egg chamber.)
I used Cinema 4D and Octane. Most of the models are game rips that still needed a lot of tweaking + rigging+ adding more geometry. I modeled the keyblades, staff, chest pieces, environmental stuff and some other stuff myself. Still had to pose everything by hand too. About the render, I basically made a simple storyboard starting from the music and writing/sketching the whole video down. After that I just went for it shot by shot and rendered a shot overnight when it was done. Everything you see in this video is 'first try' since I didnt have the time to re render stuff or change things up :')
While that was indeed a nice touch, I do not understand why in the final shot (with Sora, Riku and Kairi vs Xehanort, Ansem and Xemnas), the guardian is black instead of white.

This was so good, the only thing i'd change would be the end, i would have Kairi face xemnas and riku face ansem, since technically that would make more sense as riku has to face his past and kairi having had conflict with xemnas before, but regardless this is master piece

It would have been nice if it had more dynamic direction, like the shot of duel wielding Roxas was a good one. Otherwise, it was fairly stoic. The models are good.
This is such a stunning animation!!! Are you going to post the one you made for fragmentary passage? It got claimed on twitch, and I would absolutely love to hear the music with the animation! Or could I at least know the music so I can look it up and listen along side?
How is it that this gets muted when I’ve seen it be used in deebeegeeks VODS? In fact, his recent Kingdomhearts streams have been VOD muted in weird places especially in the toybox world.
