A 3090 Ti in an old Antec 900 case from 2006! Yes it fit…with a little creativity/mod :) 

Only shows how the times have changed, Antec 900 and 1200 were massive back then.

I've had my Antec Nine Hundred (900) case since 2007/2008. I'm on my 4th upgrade in it, running a Ryzen 3700X with Wraith Prism cooler and it's running great. Before that I was OC'ing a Core i7-960 with NH-U12P 1366 (160mm height) CPU Heatsink/cooler, and it still had lots of room to spare,. and before that, a Phenom II X6 1090T , and before that, a Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600.

This shows why this case is still practical. The whole point of moveable/removeable is to allow this to be possible. It is by design and does not show the limitation. Actually demostrates relevance and a case to keep/get/reuse.

This is epic. I am still rocking this same case. I'm about to upgrade my 3070 to a 3080 founders edition. I have been running this same case since new. Iv been upgrading it little my little. Specs ( amd 5700x , ram vengeance 4x sticks 8gb, 1tb m.2 drive, 10tb hd, another 2tb ssd for games & another 1tb ssd for games. Blu ray/DVD player & burned ( asus brand ) Case & fans are oem ((( btw you can take hardrive big box bracket out & still keep fan in pc. This gives the gpu direct airflow.)))all fans are on high and exust are on medium speed.

I personally didnt need to remove the front plastic beauty trim piece to slide out the fan /drive bay. It Slid out the front nicely once i removed the screws on both sides and unplugged the fan molex power connector. Easy peazy.

Funny story. I just recently built a new video editing rig for my wife, and I used this same old Antec 900 case. A 4070 fits without modifications BTW. The USB port on top may finally be getting flaky, and I looked it up to see how old it was. I bought it in 2007. It is so old, it has the Firewire port on top still. I still love this old case. We are now thinking about retiring it, since the port is going bad, BUT..... With some Rosewill hot swap trays (Or similar), I think it might make a great NAS box. It may live on!

Thanks a lot ! I am about to upgrade my pc with an RTX 3080 and I wanted to keep my Antec 900 case but I wasn't sure if it would fit. Now I can see it's an option ! If I don't manage to do it I can still buy another case.

I was just looking into this to see if I could manage this EXACT upgrade, I already removed the bays (with some finesse I was able to mount the fans without the 6 drive bays), but these new cards are cutting it pretty close in terms of headroom with those mounts. Thank you for saving me a ton of time!

Recently transplanted my system out of CM Stormtrooper (HUGE!!!) that was UTTERLY BATTERED over the past 10 years, and I have to say - I REALLY appreciate how nice the 900is!! The b uilt in LED fans with 3 speed control, drive bay cages, side-window no-screen-needed-to-add-a-fan; a brilliant addition.

lately for some reason I've been reminiscing about my first gaming pc build before I took a 10 year break away.. It was in this case. I kinda miss the days when cases were made mostly with function in mind. Now everything's a fishbowl rgb show. I was considering going back to this case with my current build. It's nice to see that it would fit. I'm curious about those front fans. How are they mounted? I had this case with zero pc knowledge as a teenager, so I don't remember if that was a feature, or if you modded it that way.

Genius, I haven't tougth that I could move to one or two slots to save space for the GPU without compromise the eastetic. Plus, the top slot can still have multiples SSD connected with the proper cages. Guess my first build still want new parts upgrades. :D

I just bought this case for $30, it has 2 memory module, and an old video card. I'll try to see what I can do with it

I had an Antec case from 2004 a really nice one, but thankfully it had modular drive sections i could just remove with a lever.. but with this specific case i woulda got a dremel or angle grinder out and cut the drive section out honestly...

Nice. I'm still rocking my Antec 900 in 2024. That case is a massive piece of shit. Anyone who's owned one will tell you the same. But it's my piece of shit.
