This is why people shouldn't sell courses when they themselves dont have the basic understanding of operating procedures and remember warnings do go on your csa and psp scores for you and your company better get on data Q fix your record these are just my observations glad your learning but please dont sell training to other people maybe also look into over length permits some states love putting hotshots out of service

@@dennising2643 he is selling phone calls for 200 dollars a hour as a inexperienced driver and business owner with very little knowledge of transportation ifta dot laws fmcsa regs psp driver ratings knowledge of data q Linksys system fuel tracker national tire account access and or knowledge I can go all day I would say 200$ for a phone call is selling courses of you don't agree pay him 200$ to find out I'm actually trying to help you guys understand these videos are for entertainment purposes don't follow the leader without experience research the things I listed and become familiar with the laws and practices

@@zart3374not necessarily true. Some states require permits. I drive semi flatbed and stuck with a 48’ because a 53’ requires permits for some states such as Florida. Florida has an annual permit for 53’ trailers. It’s not the overall length that’s the issue. It’s the distance from the kingpin to the center of the rear axle in some states and kingpin to center of the trailer tandem in others.

For you being such an "expert" on stuff, you're still making day one mistakes for the last year and a half. You need to brush up on how you could have left that load and went to go take care of basic human needs like.... survival. Learn the rules and legal material it will help you drastically when shit goes wrong. Your insurance and safety score soon is gonna make it real hard for you to operate. Your actions catch up to you. I wish you the best & be safe.

So glad to see a new video, I start my CDL school on Nov, 6th. Quit my job as an engineer after 10 years. I know I won’t make as much starting out but I needed the career change. I decided to start out with vehicles instead of freight Ordered a Kaufman EZ 4. I have a Ram 3500. Hopefully will buy a 5 car in the future and get a 4500/5500. Ram or Ford don’t care. Insurance isn’t so fun. Baby lion is my go to, stay safe out there brother.

@@NHZ_x4 I know this, but I have good passive income as well. So it will be perfect for me. I gotta see for myself if I can grow within a couple years. With the discipline and work ethic I have I certainly hope it can become more profitable. Either way I eventually want to start renting out heavy machinery. Thanks for the input any is appreciated. I wasn’t one of those idiots that watched a hotshot Bennii video and fell for the trap I did my research well. Obviously logistics is heavily regulated and the market is over saturated unfortunately but hopefully things will getter better for everyone when the economy starts to improve.

@@jmanathisfinestdiscipline isn’t what’s causing drivers to go out of business it’s regulations and the cost of maintenance amd repairs combined with the unregulated brokers who are free to do what they want no consequences while drivers hands are tied by regulations but good luck man been a cdl driver 15 years it’s only gotten worse it’ll get better then what it is. Ow most definitely but it’ll never get as good as it was 3 years ago I’ve seen the pattern trust me

Man IFTA is a pain in the a**. I applied a month ago and Arizona is being difficult. All I want to do is be legit and pay taxes. So for now I have been spending so much in trip/fuel permits everywhere.

ya I just got them in the mail. and this was an out of service from a couple weeks ago. the videos sometimes can be delayed because I need about 12-20 hours just to put a video together. but in this case it worked out because my iota stickers came in, just in time for me to throw a picture of them in the video. but they are on my truck now.

Have you thought of getting the federal regulations book? I know that you took a picture of a page a while back. You should know what you are required to have. I would recommend that you call Coast2Coast. They can get you set up with every permit you might need. They are really reasonable price wise. Wyoming won’t even let you run through the state without your IFTA. I’m not sure, but you might also have to pay HVUT. If you run into New York, you might have to buy an annual HUT ($1.50 a year). Also, do you have v-boards? You can buy them or make them out of 1X4 with old straps. Carry pieces of carpet to protect your tarps from sharp loads.

Hey Lion! Love your vids! You said that the red semi was getting paid the same as you, and you were probably right, but that load on your truck makes you have the aerodynamics of a Brick. Which begs the question of what was your fuel mileage on this load, and if in this particular case, if it had a significant impact on your profit versus a lower rate load? Keep up the great content! I’ve loaded this same insulation out of DuroLast and it’s absolutely terrible on fuel even though it’s light. I’d way rather have a heavy load that sits low to the deck. Of course, we take what we can at times 🤷

Shoot!! Ya that would’ve sucked. I showed him proof I was off the road and it was my first day back in two weeks and I had only been driving 4 hours. Also I had my girl friend take pics of my registration from my binder I left at home so I was really trying to help him out not to totally ream me.

Honestly Dully. Less of a financial risk until you learn where to go and where not to go. Its competitive out here and once you get it down pat after about a year an a half with your CDL set up as a hotshoter. then id go semi and you're good to go. That's my opinion. but definitely do not start non CDL, Im saving you the pain by telling you that lol

If you have your CDL or non CDL if you are pulling cargo and being paid for it you fall under FMCSA like you said keep your ELD plugged in and have paper logs as a back up also.

Pro Tip for insulation loads, You can jimmy rig a 8ft long strand of 1/2 inch PVC pipe with a PVC 1/2 inch T Fitting cut a slot on the top of the T-Fitting and use that to get your Edge protectors on to whatever load you want without jumping onto the load. I'd suggest throwing straps first then use the straps as a guide to putting your edge protectors up.

My binder never leaves the truck. Anything that has to be updated or replaced I print in the house and take to the truck to replace. As far as the ELD. Get a dedicated tablet or phone that stays hooked up to your truck.
