Definitely needs to be out of that container worst things for condensation. That transit is proper rare. Every one has mk 1/2 escorts rs turbos and cosworth but a brand new unused mk2 transit is something different

What a collection that transit brings back good memory's of my youth.Think all the long wheelbase one's where twin wheel.Looked like the xr3i had rs turbo front seats did u notice.Choosing one is hard i like my VW's so the vr6 but the lotus carlton would be my choice as i don't think i've seen one before.Again great vlog Adam

That RX7 is a beaut, Series 5 FC3S. The FB was the MK1 RX7, FC was the second gen. that one being a S5, it has different Bumpers, suspension, brakes, engine and lights. It’s nice to see it still running its original engine, the 13B-T2, they made decent power aswell - 210hp. I’m enjoying seeing that you have more RX’s coming onto the channel, Once my RX8 has finished being restored maybe I should get in contact lol

Remember as a kid in the 80s, being with my dad in his cavalier SRi doing around 100mph on the M1 and being overtook by a 3dr black cossie which must have been doing 140ish mph with a Lotus Carlton absolutely up his chuff, going for it. Always wanted a Carlton ever since.
Fun fact, when I worked at lotus, our tea room had lotus Carlton carpet In it. It was the building where they were built. At the time I was driving a gsi3000, they used to go in one end, and lotus carltons came out the other.. This was lotus engineering, prototype development and build.

I was at a South West Lotus open day a few weeks ago and they had another Lotus Carlton there - I kept wandering back to it 😍 - but I've always had a soft spot for the look of the Evo-kitted Mercedes 190. So cool.

What a great and mixed collection of vehicles. Those Lotus Carlton are extremely rare now. Transit reminds me of the old school minibus. It must be possible to check provenience of the XR3i from old photos out there, or old news stories.
Transit all day long for me drove very same model for securicor armoured cash van ....with a crew of three i did once do a handbrake turn in snow....happy days...awsome collection
The 201 with the 104 engine fitted looks magic, better than the cosworth four pot engine with the exhaust manifold which cracks and valve adjustment by. Taking the cams out.
Wicked video Adam as always but, that transit is absolutely fucking unreal with only 147 miles on it cool as fuck,but the coolest car by far in my opinion gotta be the lotus Carlton what a weapon and mega rare now,I remember when they first came out a car trader I knew got one but couldn't drive it for ages because no insurance company would touch it ,he could get covered for Ferrari Lamborghini etc but wouldn't cover him for the Carlton so goes to show how mental that car was back then lol, even today it would put a lot of big names to shame proper car that Adam, keep up the good work Adam good job mate 👍👍
I’ve seen a Lotus Carlton in Purple years ago, virtually on a daily basis, so they’re not all green or silver. It was a mauve type purple so subtle and understated like the green ones.
The cars where all imperial green from factory, the purple one you are talking about belongs to a.museum who have two LCs the one you are talking about was resprayed with the flip colour you have seen, it was originally Imperial green as all 950 cars produced where
@@paulrees3298 Paul, if you know that to be true, fair enough but it was worth highlighting its existence. When it came out, it was a £40k car so for the owner to have a full body respray to such an understated colour was rather extravagant. When I saw it, 20 to 25 years ago, the owner was a Black Guy living in South West Birmingham and apart from the paint, it looked standard. As an aside, I seriously considered buying Autocar’s LC when they were offering it for half price at £20k after a years ownership. Two years later you couldn’t get them for less than £40k and they haven’t dropped below that level since, I really wanted to try to reach the 186mph top speed in the 2nd best Q car ever made. In the end though, I owned the ultimate Q car which was a Rover 220 GSI turbo with the tomcat turbo 200bhp engine but which looked much the same as the 1.4 version (bonnet bulge and modest rear spoiler excepted). It did go off the clock and did its 146mph top speed on the way to and from the Nurburgring with ease. The most memorable aspect was the ability to change into 3rd gear below 110 and changing from 2nd to 3rd at 70 and 4th to 5th at 135mph and it’s flat torque curve of 240Nm between 1700-5000rpm which was really good for towing a motorbike on a trailer accelerating faster than an XR3i on its own.
The biggest mistake I ever made was selling my Lotus Carlton, seeing that one I've just slapped myself again, they are still a great car and worth a mint now.
The moonstone silver carlton was repainted for a TV show! The reason they painted it is because alot of the seines were at night and the dark green lotus didn't show on the camera in the dark. The painter apparently did such a poor job not painting inside door jams and engine bay it's since been repainted back to green
