Pete , Paul again from UK , I live only about 12 miles from Liverpool, home of the Beatles and Liverpool FC. I have only been a subscriber for a couple of days , I just want to say keep doing a wonderful job , I have watched so many of your videos recently and I have enjoyed all of them. I wish you could post meat to the UK because if I was in America I would come down to your stall and buy products from you. It’s good to keep small family run farms in business. I have been to many places in the US and I really like the US , keep up the good work that you and Hilary are doing.

We recently got into Dexter Cattle, This fall is the first fall we are getting some butchered. I am very excited about it after watching many of your videos! I would love to see (if it doesn't already exist) what you get on average off of your cattle. Pounds/cuts/burger. Thanks for making great content!

It's to bad that you don't have a dedicated trailer to haul everything to the market in. It would always be in the trailer, so nothing would ever get forgotten and left behind. P.S. Love the jokes!!! Dave N.
@stuartgibson1896
@stuartgibson1896 3 года назад
I was thinking the same thing. An enclosed trailer with a couple freezers and a refrigerator would save some time. Wiring it where a short extension cord would power the whole thing at home or market would help as well.
@hairlesscat6458
@hairlesscat6458 3 года назад
@@stuartgibson1896 from personal experience, sometimes those refrigerated trailers can be expensive. But I don’t know the modern prices.
@stuartgibson1896
@stuartgibson1896 3 года назад
@@hairlesscat6458 I was referring to just an enclosed cargo trailer with a couple deep freezers and refrigerators inside kind of set up like a food trailer/truck. Strictly to cut down the amount of load/unload time.

I just want to point out to the viewer that when these extra long commercials appear, if you skip them early, you are actually hurting our host, but, he's not going to tell you that. Disclaimer, we do not know each other, but I just happen to know that anytime a commercial runs at least 30 seconds, the host profits from it. That said, if you have an extended commercial pop up, 1 minute, 2 and a half minutes, or longer, please, help our host by setting down your device and taking care of the quick errand you know you want or need to do: snack from the kitchen, bathroom break, check the kids, whatever. Please help our host and let those pesky ads run.

Great video once again. On the subject of hoves, I don’t know if you feed your cattle anything other than grass but my experience is that hoves grow quicker if animals are fed grain. Used to work on a milk farm where we trimmed hoves twice a year, and those cattle walked quite a bit but obviously had a diet consisting of both grass and grains. In my herd they only eat grass and grow to about 30-35 months. No need to trim hoves.

I think it’s a matter if something (as in pathogen) is on your farm or not, that determines whether or not vaccination is needed. Certain detrimental organism’s can glide in the soil for years until it finds a host. That’s why I keep my rescued culls on rented pasture that my Dexters will never walk on the same ground.
