I cant believe I bought an rc without any experience and it was flying everywhere. I even lost a tire within 5 minutes. Great video btw, would have been better if there is another camera zoomed in the transmitter as you do these movements :)

Jumping may be “basics” to you but I just wanted to see how the steering works with the wheel on the side of the controller. As someone thinking about getting into the hobby, I’m puzzled why the steering wheel is on the side and not straight on.

Thanks for your feedback! To answer your question, the wheel is on the side because it's ergonomically more comfortable to use the transmitter in your left hand, right index on the trigger, facing forward and turning the wheel left and right with your right hand, your thumb and forefinger. It allows you to comfortably walk, watch and drive your car, and pivot to follow the car. Its not like sitting in the car driving with your feet and hands, you need both hands active to drive the car, as well as hold the transmitter. We'll get our RC Department onto creating a new Steering Basics video ASAP to show this plus everything else you may want to know about steering and RC when you're first getting into the hobby 😄

I had one of the early Futaba controllers with the wheel on the front and it was terrible to use for any length of time. Trying to hold onto a square box with one hand while turning the wheel with the other just doesn't work very well.

Hi, I need to maintain a constant velocity on the RC car. I'm trying to find a way to make the trigger maintain a constant pressure. Any ideas?

Hi March Jacob! To keep a constant velocity on the throttle: Electronically control the constant speed by adjusting the throttle trim on the transmitter to "dial" the speed up + to desired velocity. You could then run and run and run with no inputs from the trigger control, and control velocity by just using the throttle trim. Until the battery runs flat (not recommended with lipo batteries). If you need more help give us a call :)

@@MetroHobbiesAus Hey I am just getting into RC and this is interesting to me. Do you have more advice on this stuff? Battery specific do's and dont's? Things like: will I burn out my motor by using certain settings too much or for too long at a time?
