Glad to hear it! She is an absolute favorite of mine. Certainly my favorite Legendary for Golgari, hands down. You see *Wandering Archaic* yet? Must include from Strixhaven.

I didn't know what the reverse list was when I started buy other EDH cards back in 2016. I had no clue that they said "never could" reprint cards because I was used to just buying stuff on the markets. Has it affected me now? Yea because I didn't buy any of the OG duals back like 5 years ago when they were cheap. =/

Reserved List is easy to solve. Wizards just has to print official proxies of expensive RL cards. Gold bordered RL cards have already been printed in World Championship decks. It’s just a matter of what kind of product they would go in. Make a physical Vintage Cube product that is gold bordered, it’s already popular on mtgo, it solves most of the problems. But Wizards, as greedy as they are now, wouldn’t sell it cheap.

Nah, that’s why they dropped their MSRP (back w/War of the Spark): they have a “name your price” gun, officially, for all their SL’s and anything else moving forward.

@@damo9961 The point it that they are functionally and visually the same as the RL cards; even made by Wizards themselves. They can circumvent the RL by making them Gold bordered so that the cards are technically not tournament legal.

Had a killer game today with this deck list against a counter heavy pod, but Kozilek and Wandering Archaic held down the table quite well :) any updates planned for this list for when MH2 hits?

You can definitely run Winter Orb. I find it often doesn't do enough with how Mana Rock heavy my own personal meta is, but it's certainly worthy of consideration for Madam Belbe.

Kinda surprised Caludron Familiar didnt make the cut but it makes more sense after hearing how the ideal turn 1,2, 3 goes

How does the curve work competitively tho? T1: Cauldon Familiar -- Lose the 1 aoe trigger, fail to ramp with BB, just a complete wiff. T2: Cauldron Familiar + Belbe in the same turn? Means you need a 0-drop or 1-drop ramp, not too hard, but it becomes 2 cards to do what any of the [Attack→Ping] cards do. T3: CF + BB == A turn too slow. You get your 6 drop on turn 3 instead of turn 2. Any later turn? It's late game. You don't really need those 6 colorless mana unless you're playing Eldrazi Titans, and a "Colorless Ritual" still isn't as good as a static ping effect. You should sac BB and don't care about her trigger because the opponents have been locked out. You don't need to give them even a slight chance of extra mana.

I knew it was gonna be an eldrazi list. I might actually build this since i already have a semi-powerful great distortion deck which i play in cedh-y tables. And while its normal to get combo'd before kozilek comes, once i cast it once the deck feels at the same level than the table. And my favorite play is countering those 0 mana value cards not by discarding a mana crypt... but a basic wastes, the insult 🤣

I wonder why people don't run Shepard of Rot in the pinger list. Typically (at least the metas I've played in) game wins or loses don't come down to a few life lost, but usually a Thoracle or infinite combo. I've added Shepard into my list and it puts in work, and does so without the risk of attacking. His only downside is the 2 cmc, which may be why people have chosen not to run it.

Patrick, what about Cauldron Familiar? You could maybe fit in oven as well. I am sure there's an elf tribal version with the new elf cards like Elderfang Venom

I don’t like the one shots. Nothing will compete with a T1, 1 mana value “Each Opponent” creature. So I’m really just holding out for more of those. However, you could build an elf theme around Belbe, for sure.

@@LocalGameGroup yes, most of the games people just quit all togheter after a third turn in a row, specially if you can play a sensei divining top or crystal ball before hand (crystal ball in this instance is better). The times it doesn't... I laugh SO MUCH with people salting because the turns are so randomized that I don't even care I also play with Omen Machine for the extra salty boost

I've got a few reserved list staples, I'm hoping to trade up to get the few "affordable" ones I need such as Mox Diamond and Lion's Eye Diamond - sadly I doubt I'll be in the position to obtain a real Bazaar or Chains so it'll be proxies for me!

The reserved list was important at the start of this game for sure. But it s soooooo bad managed it s embarassing. The problem is that now we have to accept it because nothing has been done before. You can t stop buyouts without killing the market. I ve bougth a gea s and a Wheel recently. They are investments more than cards.

No Priest of Titania? I know she's 2 mana but you run a lot of dorks and other cheap elves, plus Belbe is an elf so you almost always tap for 2 if not 3 mana. Peer into the Abyss is a good one. I like Sandstone Oracle too, deck can run out of gas and someone at the table always has a full hand of cards. I've played some games where a turn 2 Smokestack just wins me the game.

I’m not sure why I’d be running Priest as she takes a dedicated board state and casting slot (T2) for Belbe. I have a Commander that does the ramp I need, with 100% availability on her. Plan A > Priest. I’ll be brewing a list shortly that will rely on her though. 🤝

legacy is my favorite format. I cant afford a legacy deck. i played in a tourny that allowed proxy decks. i played vs ppl who had actual decks and i won. sadge

The buyouts have made my collection more valuable but at the end of teh day it's not something you ever wanna see. For example my Survival of the fittest didn't even cost me 100 bucks and now it's almost 4 times that. It doesn't even feel good, at this point I'll probably just proxy them and sell them at some point.
