This is the only video of a controllable 2 way that can change direction without any infrastructure that I've seen. I have my own design I came up with after learning about terracotta, but I didn't think to use trapped chests and mine needs two people to operate safely. Really good job!
Thank you! The inspiration for the design came from a few different sources. That's the great thing with RU-vid (and Discord) - we can share and pool our ideas to create new, wonderful things! 😃
That is very cool. Not that I'd have a need for a flying base per say but cool nonetheless. Might have to play around with it just to play around with. 😛 I just love seeing some of the crazy and cool things that people come up with using redstone.
Be careful using this in The End! 😅 In BrokeRock season 2 I did, and my connection to the server lagged out. I connected back in to find myself falling into the Void. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IgzfxoWvM6U.html I recommend not carrying anything of importance on you when you make the crossing. 👍 But thank you! I'm glad you like the design!
WOW! THIS IS AMAZING! I will definitely be trying this! I would like to make mine slightly bigger though, so is that possible with this design? If not please make a design that is bigger, that would be even better!
Hello. And Thank You! Currently, the design for the main platform uses almost the maximum number of blocks for the push-limit of pistons. There is space for 1 more block, which I usually take up by leaving the furnace on the platform. That way I can cook things if I want as I travel. To make the "Base" larger would require adding in additional, separate platforms. . . . which would be an interesting challenge for sure! When I get a minute I'll look into seeing what I can do with it. 👍
I'm thinking you should try to make flying machine "plates" to add like an actual house function to the build. Things like bed and more chests. Brewing stand ect. Really awesome though dude.
Thank you! That would be cool to do! Some items like beds and ender chests can't be pushed by pistons though. So they would need to be packed up before moving.😥 I have thought about trying to put some sort of roof on it to protect you from phantoms. And, of course, the holy grail would be to figure out how to make it move from side to side as well as back and forth! 😀
we will only see you once in season 2 before you fly off into the farlands with that platform...🤣🤣 or you will add tnt dispensers to the machine and have a prank revenge bomber that will visit the perpetrator from above.... definitively i will watch the sky more often in season 2 now 😂😁
😂 I only build technology for good! (although I do have a pretty wicked bomber design! 😆) I'll stick around for more than one episode. But I will say - It makes it really easy to sneak across and out to the End islands without leaving a bridge behind as evidence that you've been there! Lol!

does this work for Nintendo switch, and do you have to use glazed terracotta? i don't know how to get glazed terracotta. also is there a way to build a small room attached to it with a bed?
Sorry for the delay in response. As far as I know it will work on Nintendo Switch. Although, I do not have one to actually test it out. There are only a few blocks that don't stick to honey or slime blocks. Glazed terracotta are the only ones that won't break when they get pushed. To make them you just need to cook a colored terracotta block (red, white, etc . . ). Doing that will make it glazed. As far as a small room with a bed . . . doing a room might be possible. It would need quite a bit of design work to get it to be pushed along with the platform. I haven't quite worked that out yet though. But the bed its self could not be left out when the platform is moving because it will break when pushed by a piston. Either that or the platform will slide out from under it since a bed will not stick to a honey or slime block. I hope that answered your questions. 😀 Good luck with your builds!
