Just a quick product tip this week as I've been busy with production work. I've got some more tutorial and work-flow videos planned next so don't worry, i haven't turned in to a shopping channel! I did almost add some lift music though! 🛍🎶

Thanks for this video Paul I will be purchasing one for my batteries I just had a shoot and the battery died for some reason at 30% so I didn’t know if I change it enough

I’ve noticed that too with some batteries, they run dry on the camera but show as 50% charged when you put them on the charger. It might just be that there is still charge on the battery but not enough for the camera.

It’s still just a USB charging station though. You could plug any high capacity USB charger into any other USB battery charging station and get the same result. It would still take all day to charge 4 x NP-F 970 batteries. Get a mains powered charging station for faster results.

That’s not the case, I’ve tried a few main chargers that are still slower than this one.

I just got my first camcorder and don't know anything about the battery stuff , mine takes the np-fv5 plus 3.7v will this charger work on mine

Hi. No I don’t think this will work for that battery but I can see why it might sound like it would. This one only works with NP-F series, not NP-FV.

I don't understand why npf was made to accept such low power ( at least thats what it seems to me) Probably cause they were made so long ago. Most chargers only push 5w into those when charging. This is easily the most powerful i've seen and it only pushes about 15w into them. Its strange. Npf must really hate being fast charged.

It’s due to the cell life being overstimulated. At those higher rates those off brand batteries really do get eaten up. I never go over 2000mah per charging port and even that will eat them 20/30% faster in my test from working at a camera rental house. I say it’s worth it bc these batteries really are cheap and the time saved has easily been worth 20/30% less life span of these cheap batts. ONLY if they’re chepo batts…. Never charge good brand batts with off brand chargers. I saw a Sony batt explode and had never had trouble out of that batt or charger till the mixed use. Of course always dispose of the batteries responsibly…. Many do not
