For me, the ideas in ru-vid.comUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

This popped up September 2021. What a different world where sloppy timber delivery would not turn around in an hour! Have to go to yard, select from little that's available, if nothing usable, job delayed or, sometimes, client happy to redesign to work with what you can get

Scott, I just purchased a 1966 tri-level home, my top-level living room and master are super loud and I feel there is a huge area with bounce in the bedroom. I have two questions, should I double up my subfloor or shoud I relace is with T&G 1/2 to help with noise? And do you suggest I hire a contractor to look at the bounce on the floor?

Hi Scott, where you opened the floor, was that the 'one' bearer running parallel to the flooring with joists somehow cut into it. It seemed too straight to be blocking between the joists. It almost looked like the bearer/joist connection was a 'halved' joint (half cut out of the bottom of the joists & half cut out of the top of the bearer). If so, it's no wonder there was so much spring in the floor. I'm curious to get a better look at that connection. As for the aluminium foil insulation, our politicians a bit over a decade ago had a big push on ceiling insulation with partial government funding. A lot of rouge companies sprung up promoting foil based ceiling insulation and unfortunately a few people got electrocuted. Stay save bro, rom across the ditch, Jim

Yeah, there are guys who install kitchens full time. Sometimes they are former builders, sometimes cabinet makers. On this job the owner has a close relative who does it for a living

Ok cool I appreciate the answer. I’m interested in this for comparison sake. I am a General Contractor in Boston, MA, USA, primarily a home remodeler although I also use the term builder or carpenter. A Builder typically refers to a contractor doing new construction. Speaking from my experience, I have a JR carpenter and a laborer with me and together we do all of the framing and into the finish with kitchens always being part of that. Since I am there from start to finish on a project and running all of the subs it makes sense to be involved at all points. Larger contractors will have individual frame subs and finish subs who will typically do the kitchens as well. Some cabinet suppliers have their own installers, but they are usually subs anyhow. I’m interested in the terminology and job site hierarchy over in NZ as it seems to be pretty different from ours. Thanks and love the videos!

Also in NZ we don't install sheathing on our homes, just framing then cladding, which i personally think is ridiculous.

(Not a chippy but I'm in nz) so we have a lot of finishing trades and some people do both bits it's at the discretion of the builder ....
@tubestick00
@tubestick00 5 лет назад
When I worked in the UK we never built our own kitchens? Not once. Do you do steel reinforcing and foundations/excavations etc? Its pretty hard/dumb to try to do everything, a professional kitchen cabinet maker will be better. They do it all day every day.
@ScottBrownCarpentry
@ScottBrownCarpentry 5 лет назад
Some builders become kitchen installers but a lot of time it is done by guys who trained to be cabinet makers. The guys who install kitchens here do it day after day, so they get the job done far quicker than we would
