アルコ&ピースのファンです。このコラボで合気道に興味を持ち、沢山知ることが出来ました。試合が無いから老若男女みんな出来る（アルピーチャンネルでのお話）はとても魅力的だなと思いました。刃牙のような漫画みたいな技から一見簡単そうな技まで面白かったです。今回はありがとうございました☺

最初は、技の効果、最後は考え方、最後ちゃんとヤられてオチに持ってく構成きちんとしてて、先生がきちんと喋れる間と、やられの面白さがあって、全然合気道知らない自分にも他の格闘技と何が違うかとか、試合が無い意味が判るいい動画でした。面白かった！！

Ryuji Shirakawa, you never cease to Inspire, i think the most important aspect of Aikido to me is the" Harm None" aspect. Where other Martial Arts do damage, Aikido forces only to yield & submit & i prefer this. The Meditation i practice does not allow harm so i wouldn't be permitted to practice & literally speaking, i do not wish any harm as it defeats the purpose of being HumanKIND. That said, i do tend to laugh at the fall of the big boys & how they wah wah, i have to wonder if Females are that vocal 😉 I think Mothers or not, Women have Mastered pain & would soon overcome it if they cried out. As always, i enjoyed the post & Thank You For You! 😊🙏

実兄が子供の頃から社会人になるまでで二段まで取得しました。絡んできたヤカラを片手で制圧し、もう片手で110番するくらいにはなりました。姿勢や所作も美しくなり、これほど役立つお稽古事は無いと思います。

Everyone says Aikido is an incomplete fighting system, while even the practitioners want to stay out of fights as hard as they can. Everyone's logic is A+, like thinking a ring fight represents a real fight with no rules and so many objects around

Core Zero: ya that's the problem with alot of people, because MMA is so popular today most people dismiss Aikido because of what so and so says. what they don't understand is that Aikido wasn't meant for sport fighting, Judo is very similar in alot of ways and yet people don't put Judo down as much. but there both mainly about self defense and controlling your opponent. now some people would argue Aikido wouldn't work in real life against a resisting opponent, but that's not true. anything can happen with someone who intends to do harm, and oftentimes there aggressive. that's where Aikido can be effective in getting you out of a dangerous situation. but the best defense is to hopefully never put yourself in a situation to have to hurt someone to get away.

the pain is not really in the wrist but in the elbow and shoulder joints, and instantly goes away when the arms are released. You should try it sometimes.

I’m almost 63 years old and am recovering from a broken leg. I am inspired to get trained as this style seems low impact. I am very interested in self defense My question is am I too old for this training?

No, as long as you're otherwise in fair shape. If you've never had any other training before start out learning how to fall and roll, exercise your muscles (sit ups, push up, etc.) to build some strength up - nothing real strenuous, just toning - and stick with it. Believe me, you will soon get in shape. You will be amazed at how little actual muscle you have to use to control the other person, and how easily you will get thrown when your partner does it to you. The usual problem I have always had is FINDING somewhere teaching Aikido, so if you have some one around you count yourself fortunate. I've been in martial arts more than half my life, studied Hapkido under Grand Master Bong Soo Han (Think fight scene in the park in "Billy Jack", that was him.) for 4 years, studied Aikido under several instructors over the years, been to several other style through the years. I'm at that age I can't do the hard style techniques, but the Aikido I can still handle because it's not as hard on my body. So go for it if you're body is still willing, I think you'll love it as much as I do.

There are actually numerous health benefits for all kinds of people who train in aikido. It's quite feasible for older, weaker people to start training in aikido as a form of physical exercise. I am confident that many older people can train in the role of 'tori' and the role of 'uke' when training in aikido. What I question is the ability to use such techniques for self-defense. Aikido is notorious for some people who practise it for many years and then they can't demonstrate using it to defend themselves in a street fight scenario. Perhaps these people have poor teachers who aren't so effective at developing the consciousness of the students. Perhaps the students have a low consciousness and fail to apply their techniques under an environment of duress. Whatever the reason, aikido is not a trivial skill to learn. This is not to say that "aikido is useless for self-defense". The mechanics of dealing with attackers in a "soft" manner are everything for aikido. The question is about the practitioner and the practitioner's mentality and consciousness. Will you develop your consciousness such that you can "use aikido" while you are under duress? Your consciousness when learning the mechanics of each technique can change when you try performing aikido under duress.

I think Aikido is great. It's not very well suited for most self-defence situations though. And at your age (about the same as mine) learning how to fall might pose some problem.
