OMG THAT HAUL! Those Akhtar's books are the sequels to Gunmetal Gods, right? I didn't know it had a novella, I've been meaning to check it out for ages, and thought it was a standalone! 🤦🏻‍♀The Divine Comedy! I read it sooo many years ago, and translated to Spanish; I need to try again, honestly. LaRocca's book--honestly I had never heard of him, and it seems very interesting! Thank you for sharing that! Oh I highly recommend LaRocca! I can’t praise his prose highly enough. Ahhh Yes, I also fell into that trap with Gunmetal Gods 😂 there are a few more!

Best wishes with your reading choices. The only problem with watching other book tube channels is that it only increases the tbr. I'm currently at page 1144 of the Count of Monte Cristo so nearly done. Happy reading.

I must, must read HC Newell this year, her books have been on my TBR forever. What a haul, my friend! Oh you are in for a treat with Tchaikovsky. Hands down my favourite sci-fi author right now. Period.

@@AFictionalEscapist it depends if you want a sci-fi trilogy or a 10 book fantasy series! I'm two books into Shadow of the Apt and I love it! His approach to fantasy is unique in my experience and approaches race, culture and magic in a fascinating way. I've nearly finished Shards of Earth and it's hands down one of my favourite sci-fi reads in a long time. I would say that Empire was his first published book so there are a few creaky edges to the writing, but it's still a fantastic read and he improves exponentially with book two.
