38 years ago I bought an “old” singer hand crank for £10 pounds. I took it on all my deployments. I Repaired my/our torn uniforms in the field. That portable and a singer treadle have been my only machines since that time. I’ve made many costumes for my kids, and grandkids. I always thought I was good enough...... ....Until I’ve seen your videos. Thanks for humbling me... .... and giving me a new goal.
How wonderful that you use your old hand crank for so many projects! I am sure that you are more than good enough!!! It is only a matter of practice to do this type of work.
@@MarilynLeefabricthreadartist Good morning Ms. Lee. I retired and work part time now. I have some simple print fabric in my scraps. I think I’ll stretch a few swatches and use them as color and design patterns. I’ll be using my singer treadle for this project. Im guessing that you have several bobbins 🧵 already wound for each project. Thank you again for sharing and encouragement. Paul.
@@ArmorAir Yes I do have extra bobbins wound. I use a thinner thread for the bobbin such as the type of thread you can buy for commercial embroidery machines....it is thinner or what I use is Serger thread. You do want to use a thinner thread for the bobbin as it is less bulky and you don't build up such thick layers of thread to sew through. Good luck with your project! Sounds fun!
Your embroidery is so smooth and gives so much peace watching you embroider! It almost feels like you are moving the machine head and not the embroidery frame!
I love watching your videos! They are so hypnotizing. I hope your staying warm up here in God’s north country. Do you listen to any music or something else while your working on your creations? When I’m sewing, sometimes silence is wonderful and other times some good music in the background keeps me company. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
Thank You Kelly! I have fun making them and deciding what music to use....:) I am warm and safe up here although it is way below zero! I do listen to music but sometimes the silence is wonderful also! Just the sounds of the treadle is like therapy to me at times. I am working on another video of the lacework I did on this piece. Trying to learn new editing software and it has been a challenge! :)
