Great podcast, as always Peter. In terms of Aleks's perspective of "strong governance" or kingship; I would refer him to the Bitcoin Standard podcast where Saylor very well argued in favor of a meritocracy.

Pete you are a well balanced thoughtful man, i like your interview style very much. Thanks Interesting advert for his book - didnt expect that. Cant help but think no matter the good intentions of some, the majority of people will go down the less vurteous routes and civilisation will only get worse. Too many people value the wrong things.

Alex thinks in such black and white terms. One extreme or the other. A great challenge for someone like Peter who more aptly sees the middle ground and nuances in our reality.

I really liked this podcast and can't believe how negative most of the comments are. Seems like a lot f people in here are easily triggered! 🤣 I will definitely buy Aleks' book and can also recommend "Democracy - The God That Failed" by Hans-Hermann Hoppe for anyone who wants to delve deeper into this topic (which is always a good idea before before expressing or forming your opinion about it).

Kings don't have debt, Countries/ Governments don't have debt. The State has debt and the people have estates. The people is the state. sum(estate debt) = state debt.

Yes they never touched on the topic of Consent, if people want a strong monarchy they that’s fine, but they need to have the freedom and agency to make that decision and also to change their decision if they so wish.
