I was bit in my eye ball in my crib as a baby by a black widow, almost lost the eye, they found the spider dead in the crib I had rolled over on it.

We have the brown recluse everywhere in Wyoming. I was once just on my phone, minding my own business, I look down at my arm and one is just sitting there, not moving. I have never thrown my phone farther in my life 😂😂

Brown recluse bit my inner thigh and my knee.... made a hole in my leg and I pulled a ball of pus out of it and my knee swelled up and was SUPER red and painful everytime I got up or down...then while I was on antioxidants my knee spewed a ton of pus for about 3 days... Anyway! That was 3 years ago and I still have a scar on my inner thigh.....if not treated you risk having to get a chunk of muscle removed from the inffected area.......... P.s. I don't shoot webs but spiders don't bother me anymore ....I am one with nature now

It wasn't a black widow. He would never have been able to sleep through a black widow bite unless he was heavily intoxicated or on drugs. A black widow bite burns like being stung by a wasp. You can sleep through a brown recluse bite because a brown recluse bite isn't very painful. It wouldn't wake a sleeping person but it would look awful the way he described in this video after you wake up. He's lucky necrosis didn't set in.

I still have a half dollar sized scar a 1/4" deep on my thigh from getting bit by a Recluse in an attic while working. Three different doctor visits and three weeks later they finally got all the bacterial venom out that was eating away my flesh. Lidocaine around the bite and 2 shots of morphine didn't even help with the pain when they lanced it open the last time. Horrible little bug...

I was bitten by some sort of spider that seemed to have worse effect than that black widow did. I ignored it and after like a week my whole side of my leg was pussing and had bumps and I was like oh thats bad lol

I didn't know Brown Recluse were poisonous- nor did I know their name. I just looked it up. I say many of them as a kid. I thought they were harmless. I'm lucky- because I played with spiders as a kid.

As long as it get treated, there's no reason to die from a recluse bite. It causes slow necrosis. Also, only 4-8 people die a year from black widow bites in the U.S. Neither are as bad for us in general, as people make them out to be. There's always outliers like kids and the sickly, also pets, yadayada..

I was bitten by a Black Widow while walking from Boice Therapy building attached to E.R. & hospital to my vehicle. It crawled up my dress and bit me when I fastened the seatbelt and it was squeezed. I was super sick. Tried to tough it out. 3 days later there was a large wound on my hip - 1.5" x 2 " Penicillin (off and on) and Wound Care - for 6 months, Doc says. Youch! Don't worry though. Dic also said "poisonous spider bites are rare. I've only seen 4 in my 30 years of Urgent & ER Care."

Ryan Swanson That’s not fully true. You will eventually die if you don’t seek treatment. But, that takes a many days. You will notice the muscle tightness and seek medical attention long before that occurs.

What's not true? I merely stated that the neurotoxin that Black Widow Spiders inject can kill you if you are dumb enough not to seek medical treatment for any of the symptoms that it causes (because any reasonable person would, despite whether they knew of any such spider bit or not), but it takes such a long time that you would have to have the intelligence level of Patrick Star in order for this to happen.

Your "knowledge" as an MD is not worth much at all. Just estimated guessing that is increasingly controlled by actuaries, like myself. Let me give you a little example from my personal life. I went through 3 PCPs before being referred to a Urologist and ultimately being diagnosed with Stage III Renal Cancer, because all of these clowns knew that, while I was showing a few characteristic symptoms that could only logically appear together because of an RCC, Renal cancers only represent about 3% of all adult cancers, and the odds of someone in their 20s being diagnosed with Renal Cancer are even lower. What they also know is that conventional Renal Cancer is resistant to any chemo or radiation therapies, so once it spreads, your 5 year survival rate is barely better than that of someone with late stage Pancreatic Cancer. In conclusion, what two GPs knew, along with another that didn't want to agree with me, almost did get me killed. Now back to my main point. All I merely said was that the Neurotoxin that Black Widows inject can kill anyone eventually if medical attention is not seeked out, and you would have to have sub-human intelligence to allow for that to happen. But thank you. I always love to remind MDs what they really know.

black widows usually give a warning bite the first time they encounter someone unless it’s prey, it’s deadly because if it injected enough venom and went without treatment it could be fatal. But normally a healthy adult can survive a black widows bite
