Love Bruges. Stayed there one night as I cycled to Venice. Great chips, got chatted up by four lovely ladies at some traffic lights. Belgium is a wonderful country.
“Do you think this is good?” ‘Do I think what’s good?’ “You know, going round in a boat looking at stuff?” ‘Yes I do’. In Bruges - Colin Farrell & Brendan Gleeson
Thank you so much for sharing! That’s a fabulous tour! It really makes me think of Whistler’s etchings of some of those same facades on the canals. Makes me want to go and see it all in person! Are you going to Ghent?
Loved that trip Lorna, beautiful photography and very scenic. Haven't been on that boat trip for hundreds of years so it was lovely to revisit it with you. X
Always love a little model village as a kid I would imagine that would come alive like the Borrowers at night and you seem to have the best seat on the boat trip.
Hi Lorna Jane, Fabulous video of Bruges and Brussels, I visited Brussels back in the 70's on a works social club trip, so your video brought back one or two memories. Water bourne tours are always good to travel on especially when the skippers give you a running commentary pointing out all the interesting features. See you again soon... Cheers, Jon Barnes. 🙂
So relaxing. I did not particularly find Brussels very inviting or friendly when I was there in the early 90s. Bruges seems far more my style. The bell tower is a delight to see. I gigantic music box!
Another fantastic and interesting film from you Lorna! Bruges has a world unique transport system too, the three breweries in the city have a common pipeline out to the suburbs where they do the tapping on bottles and into kegs, they have special times when each of them can transport and then the system is washed in between the runnings.
