Happy Friday 🤗 It is so wonderful to hear about the opportunity your daughter has been given. Obviously she is very talented like her Mom. You have the right to brag as much as you want. Your book today was really a showcase of life in its most vibrant form. Your book choices are always so interesting. It is so wonderful to see all the blooms sprouting around your home. Spring is such a beautiful season of hope for what is to come. Have an amazing weekend!🌺
When you watch the reruns of "Hart to Hart" and you see her driving a blue Mercedes, I purchased that car from the leasing company in 1975, when I lived in S. Cal. My favorite car that I ever owned.
Hi Mary ! I'm so thrilled it is Friday with Mary !! I truly love your beautiful gardens what a blessing ! Your flowers in the silver looks so very pretty. Again, how exciting for your daughter .. us moms are our daughters' biggest cheerleader ! I remember reading in school "Ten Little Indians" that was sitting on the chair edge mystery .lol !! I like the Monticello shop site, I would love to go there!! Have a joyful weekend! hugs from Indiana ~ Paula
Paula- thanks for commenting. You are right, I find myself being a cheerleader for most people, but especially for my children. I could get annoying! I'm glad you understand. When I went to Monticello (and Mt. Vernon) it was an experience that was profound to me. I am a history nerd. I hope you will have a chance to visit one day. You have a great weekend too!
This week's book certainly was an explosions of color and had a big line up of known designers. Not my personal choices in colors but I know for some it's an expression of their exciting personalities, i like soft colors and pastels that I find soothing. I agree with you that the first few spring flowers are a promise that the garden will soon be a profusion of loveliness. Look forward to next week very much, again congratulations to your daughter im sure you are a proud mother.
I Love your garden, I always love the selection of the background music 🎺🥁 The book was very nice, I never met a color I didn’t like 😊. I’m thinking is time to let us know about the beautiful jewelry, I always think to my self, let’s see what beautiful jewelry Mary will be wearing today 🧐and I love it all. Have a blessed week and I’ll see you next Friday 😊❤❤❤❤❤
Hello sweet lady- I think soon I will do a "part two" {after the book review} on jewelry. I only have a few really nice pieces. Much of it is vermeil. I wish I could do a part two about your painting process. I am still delighted every time my eye comes to rest on the items you have made. You have a great week.
@@thetartantopiary Thank you Mary, you are a very nice lady yourself. I’m so glad you like it. You have some of the best hand painted porcelain, so I feel honored that you like the pieces that I have sent you. I only wished we would have met earlier in life. I’ve been trying to rest my eyes and just recently got a new pair of glasses 🤓 prescription for close-up work. Hopefully that will make a difference. I miss painting. Through the years I’ve painted thousands of pieces of porcelain. Just grateful to God, for the time He gave me to paint, and all the doors that he opened for me. It was an amazing experience. I hope you have a blessed, wonderful Easter along with your family. I really don’t know if you receive these replies that I sent to you🤷🏻♀️ God bless ❤️🍀🍀🍀
WoW what colorful interiors! Great selection for such a beautiful Spring day! We have been enjoying our pops of color here in the Golden Isles. I have enjoyed ordering seeds and beautiful items from Monticello. As it turns out Thomas Jefferson is a first cousin six generations removed. His Mom Jane and my upline Grandmom Mary were Randolph sisters. I have been many times to Monticello for "family" events, as well as Mount Vernon. I agree, I enjoy placing posies in silver. They certainly add a touch of elegance to any room. I especially like them at the kitchen sink and any room that I may be entertaining in. Hope you have a lovely week. Hugs, Bren
@@thetartantopiary I love watching your ever creative works Mary. It is always a Friday treat. It is a joy of mine working with families in which to research and prove their genealogies. That is one of my creative hobbies that I have been doing for years. If I can be of help, please do let me know. There are hereditary societies where genealogical proofs are required in which to be approved. I enjoy being a part of those. Cheers! Bren
Though I don't personally decorate with a lot of bright colors, I do enjoy seeing how people do it and the outcome. I like the color orange and I wear it... I don't know about putting it on my walls. I do love orange cats, my Tony the Tiger was a great protector 🧡🧡🧡 Have a great weekend 🪻💐🌻
Every book that you share with us has been wonderful. I didn’t think that I was going to like this week’s book as much, but it was a refreshing, interesting look at color in interior design. I enjoyed it immensely. I also enjoyed your budding garden.
Thank you- I wouldn't have purchased this book normally, but I wanted to share it on the channel. It was an interesting look into saturating rooms in color. I found myself enjoying the creams, blues and greens.
I was only 12, but I wanted to be Stephanie Powers (Jennifer Hart)! It's funny, but I think that series had a major influence in some of my life choices.
I love color, so this book was a delight to see reviewed! And I’m so happy for this great exposure for your daughter’s business and eager to see and hear more. I also think I saw a Susan Shaw bracelet that you somehow attached a piece of turquoise to. Would love to know more. Your video is a highlight of my week, Mary - many thanks!
Color is back? Thank God!! Hopefully charm will come back also! I went in a nice furniture store yesterday, only to find a sea of beige furniture. I wanted to ask them when they were getting in anything with charm!! I kept my mouth shut.
Terrific book review gorgeous colours can you honestly say a world in drab monotonous matchy matchy is preferable to a kaleidoscope of brilliant colour Dont worry about anything colour people are found everywhere and you're bound to feel something different in their rooms as opposed to the thoughtful careful selections made by social media gtalkers
Hello Mary! I love color and enjoyed this review. Best wishes to your daughter! I just know the apple didn't fall far from the tree and she will do a beautiful job! (So exciting!!!) Have a good week and give my best to Daniel! Hugs! :)
I love color and these photos were inspiring. Here comes the “but”. The fear of being too bold for the family keeps me in check. If you like wonderful mysteries. PBS offers Mid Summer Murders a British production and Agatha Christie Poirot. Trying to figure out these mysteries will keep your brain busy.
Mary, have you thought about reviewing some outdoor design books? It would be nice to know how to arrange outdoor furniture and potted plants. Loved, your video today and happy about your daughter’s success.
I have done several. I'm not sure why, but they don't get many views. If you go to my RU-vid home page and search for "garden" it will pull up a few of the books. Let me warn you- some of them are from the beginning of my channel and the quality varies. In other words, they are not great. 😄
Hi Mary, thank you for sharing this book , very inspirational. I love flowers in silver vessels. Silver is one of my favorite things to collect. Good luck with your seeds sure they will be beautiful!
Silver has become so expensive. When I was younger I thought one day I would own a piece of Paul Revere silver. I've come to realize that probably will not happen.
I’m a new subscriber in Australia. I really love this format. Your home and garden are beautiful! I’ve already ordered one of the books you reviewed and am looking forward to seeing more.
@@thetartantopiaryI’m in Sydney and we’ve had a very warm summer with lots of humidity this year. I’m now feeling Autumn in the air which is my favourite season. Sunny warm days with a crispness in the morning. Lots of birdsong.
Hi Mary! Huge congrats on your talented daughter! Also, what a great idea for a book. I'd love to color drench a room but maybe just owning this book would suffice? As a kid, I would pick wild pink lady slippers (which are endangered now) in the woods behind our home. I'd also pick wild daffodils, creek side, at the bottom of the hill where I grew up. PS: I loved watching Colombo, too.
If I remember correctly, they are Athyrium filix-femina or Lady Fern. My husband saw these at his uncles farm growing wild, and retrieved several of them. They die back in the winter and return every spring. This year they sprouted very early.
Your property is looking great with spring arriving! I also love your bracelet (with turquoise) as you turned the pages. Would you share where it's from?
