LISTEN AND YOU SHALL SEE.
Full list:
Commodore VIC-20
Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2
Atari ST (then STE)
Commodore Amiga 1200
PC based around a Pentium 200 MMX
Then some awful shop-bought Pentium 3 450 based thing
Then loads of different self-built machines
And now: THE GAMECHILD (sort of)

Should actually be doable, just dig around in the system files, find the bootup graphic/sounds and replace them with his video intro. Not sure what OS he's got in that though, might not be as easy on Win8/10 (never tried) as it was back on XP/7. (Though it's absolutely trivial on linux.)

Glad you had better luck with Overclockers. I spent over a grand on a pre-built PC in 2008, it died after a week, sent it back, they returned it a month later, hard drive dead. Sent it back again, got it back, graphics cards were hanging off, inner case bent up. They refused to replace it in its entirety, and to add Insult to injury, while they were fucking about with it, the price had gone down to 800 quid, while I couldn't use it, and refused to refund the difference. (I know no one cares, but I felt better for saying that, since their service was atrocious)

Same, I unfortunately didn't grow up with ye olde home computers. I was born a bit late for that, as a '91 kid. But we did have some kind of PC, originally running Windows 3.11, then later 95 or 98. We had Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen, Earthworm Jim, and one that I never managed to find on the internet again. I could swear that was called "Pipeline", but what I know for sure was that it was a platformer of sorts where you played a drop of water, and the game had a plain black backdrop (So maybe it was quite old). Can't remember much else tho, unfortunately, because I was just a couple of years old back then, and my parents can't remember either. Anyway, while I didn't have the mighty Commodore or it's competetors I did have an early start into console gaming, with my first systems being the Sega Master System II and the DMG Nintendo GameBoy (later replaced by two GB Pockets - green one for me, yellow for my brother). Later on we had the N64 and PlayStation plus a GameBoy Color, then a GameCube, two GameBoy Advances (black for me, purple for my bro) and a PlayStation 2, which were later joined by an original XBOX, then - weirdly enough - I got a Megadrive from a family friend plus a small handful of games, later the XBOX 360, a Wii and a Nintendo DS. These days I own a 3DS and a PlayStation 4, and have plans to get a Switch later this year for Smash. However, the Master System was special to me because it was my very first home console, despite us only having one game for it: The built-in copy of Sonic the Hedgehog (the 8-bit version, obviously). But tragedy struck when we got our uncle's used SNES with a big pile of games: Because of the vastly superior selection of games we mainly only played with the SNES, with the Master System only getting occasional use. Our mum then announced that she'd "throw it out" (probably give it to a relative or someone at work or something) because it got so little use from us. We protested, but she took it anyway. But I assume that we must have REALLY been upset by that, because that was the last time she ever did something like that - aside from the DMG GameBoy, but she got both of us a GameBoy Pocket each instead, so that one was fine with us. However, about two years ago the Sega Master System II got it's sweet and long overdue revenge, because I got a broken one from eBay. I then played Mad Scientist by giving that bad boy a brain transplant: In went a Raspberry Pi. Originally a Pi II, but later on I upgraded to the mighty Pi 3. I then loaded it up with the usual suite of emulators and filled it with games for all sorts of systems: Master System, Megadrive, 32X, NES, SNES, N64, PlayStation, GameBoy, Color and Advance, Arcade, DOS... Unfortunately, history repeats itself even with nostalgic emulation boxes, because just a few weeks ago I replaced the SMSPi with a pre-made Retroflag SuperPi case (in European SNES/SFC flavor) and a Pi 3B+. But I still have the SMS case, and I plan to get back to it and do less of a sloppy job with it eventually.

I *loved* Diablo/Hellfire! About a year ago I fired it up again just to see how it held up; you need a few patches to get it to run on a modern machine. It's definitely aged, but assuming you're in the mood for nostalgia, you can pleasantly knock out a few afternoons with it since the dungeons are always randomized and you get new stuff each time. The Hellfire expansion was great and it's a shame it didn't get better reception; I particularly liked the bug alien demons or whatever they were. Surprisingly there is a modern, active modding community for Diablo 1 called "The Hell" where they basically just ramp up the difficulty to 1000. Clicking on skeletons was somehow made much more difficult.

That custom backplate on the 1080Ti is awesome! The custom glass panel is, as well, of course. One cool thing about VIC-20 is that it tends to transcend country/continent lines as people's first computer. I've seen plenty of people from the US, the UK, elsewhere in Europe, etc, say that the VIC was their first machine. That's kinda cool when you think about it

My first computer was a 486 running DOS version 4 back in 94, 95. I attribute my early literacy to having to learn to type in the commands to actually play the games. Jazz Jackrabbit was a favorite, and of course I would sneak in a bit of Doom when my mom wasn't looking.

My 1st computer was also a gift from my uncle. A Texas Instrument something that takes cartridges. Used to play Hunt the Wumpus on it. Had to use an interface from the old 48k+ to connect the Kempston joystick. After that I had a Sega Master system, got bored of that and then got an Amiga A600 in 1992/3. Jelly Monsters was a far better Pacman ripoff than Cosmc Cruncher ;) Knock £4000 off and that's what I paid for my latest computer. That's quite a monster! :D

7:03 We all know you used it to make the game Killjoy, which you ultimately decided not to release in 1996 because 1) The Amiga was very outdated by then; and 2) There was a school shooting at the time you finished programming the game, and it would've been tasteless to release a game like that after such a horrific event.

Unf! EK watercooled GTX 1080Ti with them there CableMod cables! It gave me quite the sensation of whiplash after all that vintage to see something as uber-epic as that!

Glad you got a rig through Overclockers, looks great. I would suggest people think twice about buying from them, though - Ebuyer, Scan etc. are more reliable

This video is the story of my life. 1st computer ZX Spectrum +2 and endless hours of programming on its crappy 48K Basic, until I finally got the courage to turn to its 128K Basic editor. 2nd Computer, my first PC Pentium MMX200 64Mb RAM on a SOYO motherboard, Graphics card the Allmigthy Diamond Viper V330 with the Riva 128 chip, and Quantum Fireball HDD with 3.2 Gb, quickly replaced by the same model, but with 5,1 GB capacity and a 33,6 Kbps analog modem. Thanks man for the memories. Keep up and Stay Safe.

First Computer: ZX-81 kit. Screwed up the soldering work(bye-bye $50), so my dad bought a TS-1000. Second Computer: C64. Third Computer: TI 99/4A. Fourth Computer: Generic 486. Fifth Computer: Amiga 1200. Sixth Computer: long series of custom-built Pentium and Opteron machines.

There was myself thinking 'FUCK THE LOGOS AND CABLES GIVE ME THE SPECS' and then he did, ty Ashens. On another note my first computer (bought by parents ofc) was the A600... budget A500 just before the A1200 but I loved it for years (games looked+sounded better than IBM compatibles) until first pc and Doom and Quake.

I was born on the Intel Pentium era, so i don't had contact with those PC's...But i had utmost respect to these bits of plastic and metal(Amiga on the heart, MSX on the head)

Retro Games just announced that they are going to make a full-scale rerelease of the ZX Spectrum, simply called The Spectrum.

If you do get round to getting a VIC 20, I highly recommend also getting a Penultimate+ Cartridge from 'The Future Was 8 bit'. I recently bought one (trying not to shamelessly self promote, but I reviewed it on my channel)... and it blew me away. Multiple RAM expansion configurations, file browser for use with SD2IEC storage devices, and around 70 games, all built into one cart.

The best late 90s PC upgrade was to get a Celeron 300A and run it on a motherboard capable of easy overclocking, such as the ABit BH6. I got my AU$200 300A up to 463Mhz on a 103Mhz memory bus, while a proper P-II 450 cost close to five times the price. Best CPU bargain ever, in terms of bang for buck and overclocking capability.

32GB RAM? Sometimes when I'm browsing many tabs, 32GB is just consumed. That leaves me with ONLY 32GB RAM... I need 128GB in total now.

I honestly didn't have much of a problem with my Pentium III 450 back in the day. The biggest problems were that CPU speeds rocketed up in the following years and it was no longer feasible in any case to use CPU brute force for 3D graphics, but I was playing primarily management sims and RTS games back then, along with some of the late-1990s CRPGs. It wasn't until later when I started to delve into the 3D-heavy games between 2001 and 2005, around the time when I upgraded to play Half-Life 2.
