no nepal was never india! southern gangetic plains of nepal were once under mauryan empire, but after that it never was a part of india, even before the Britishers came, it was not under the rule of mughals also, it was divided into princely states before being unified by King Prithivi Narayan Shah in the 18th century, india and nepal were never under the same political umbrella

@@user-rg9ei5oo7w Nepali people and the language originates from sinija valley in Jumla district, it was later Hinduism, Casteism were introduced to Nepali people as the rulers were into it and so came other cultural influences like you mentioned. Animistic culture, Bon religion, Nature worship are still practiced alongside Hinduism and Buddhism in Nepal. Indians and Nepali are ethinically different majority nepali belonging to khas ethinicity and others prominent ethnicity. Don't judge on the basis of you prejudices.
