It’s so funny to see that in America, carhartt is seen as a brand for people who work in labour jobs. Here in Europe, it is a fashion brand for people to wear.
@@trillcollins7847 they are two separate divisions of the company with two different websites, Carhartt & Carhartt WIP (Work in progress) ...the original carhartt is what you see in this video... Carhartt WIP is the fashion brand you see everywhere today, literally two separate website with two completely different sets of clothing
@@JYMBO I'm aware of there being two different labels. The thing is that I live in the middle of nowhere and none of these college kids even know what carhartt WIP is, they're just buying generic carhartt.
@@trillcollins7847 if you buys Carhatt WIP you're trying too hard. There's no reason to pay 200$ more for the same "work" jacket. WIP Carhartt aren't made for durability anyways so not worth my money!
My neighbor gave me his Carhartt jacket he had in high school ( he is a bigger guy) and I still have it and wear it. It’s 25 plus years old and still great.
I’ve still got my carhart jacket with the horse blanket lining from when I was a sophomore in high school. That was almost 18 years ago. It’s faded but still keeps me warm. Love that jacket!
I had a set of Carhart brown duck bibs with an apron pocket in the front. At the time I was a plumber pipe fitter apprentice, and those things were as though as iron they lasted for 4 years of everyday use and abuse.
I am a BIG Carhartt fan since I started in the plumbing trade. My guess is over the years I bet I have spent about $6,000.00 in there bibs & jackets. I did a job one year at a steel mill in of all month's January . It was colder then a well digger a_ _. The temp was with the wind chill -60 deg . Even the pipe did not want to work. But my Carhartt save my butt & keep me warm. I will not part with my Carhartt even got aset for the better half. Just to keep them water proof get them dry cleaned.
Three generations of trades men here from PA where the weather is unpredictable especially fall through spring. We all wear Carhart its a bit more pricey but it holds up and keeps you warm and dry.
That guy so right you work hard you can achieve stuff sometimes you fail but you get yourself back up and he starts all over again and you will succeed in anything you do but you must really want it or it won't work the choice is yours
I wear Carhartt FR provided through Cintas at work here in Florida at WDW, it's not the best in the heat but it dries fast as I'm a plumber and water leaks are a major repair we do.
Carhartt,, I always wear there shirts, and my Hoodie,, I have a new winter coat, but cause the hoodie is so warm,, I never use the coat,, super good stuff
i always liked my carhartt jacket when i was a kid until one i final grew out of it i just got another one for christmas it was 8 years old when i got it but it looks brand new!
I just wish the zippers on my Carhartt stuff would last longer. As of late the zippers on their bibs have went to shit. Oh well still love my Carhartt gear, it’s comfortable and warm when I need it on the farm.
This too is a Carhartt family, I own one of their canvass jackets (it's over 10 years old and only worn out in the cuffs where I turned them in), I can't remember what line it is, same for my mother's and father's jackets. Father has an "Arctic Wear" full suit that he uses during the winter when the temperatures get close to zero, and it works way better than I thought it would. I too, am a critter in need of weight loss. It's not an easy trip but sticking to it will make you happier in the long run, I've lost 20 pounds over the last 2 1/2 to 3 months, but my journey is far from over. Stay Strong.
I had a particular jacket I liked from them, but they quit making it 3 years ago. I just haven't found any of the other ones I like. Seem like they just never fit me right or have the pockets in the right place. I wish I would have bought a a few of them to keep in reserve.
I have a couple Carhartt jackets, and love them. Tried their pants and jeans, and can't say I like the fit much. Found Duluth pants to be as durable and more comfortable, not to mention Duluth often has sales online.
The winter hats are still my favorite, but I'm done with their coats and bibs. The competitor's products have held up as well or better, and typically at a lower price. Seemed like they would always fade in no time at all, but only where exposed - under the collar and inside the cuff would remain dark. The outer layer and insulation would suck up water like a sponge unless rainproofing spray was constantly reapplied. Snow would always melt on them, as the insulation bled body heat out as fast as I could make it. As soon as the initial stiffness would go away, they'd start to fray and fall apart, with the wind cutting right through. Too much money to have to replace every winter. I switched to a different brand fleece lined polyester hi-viz for my primary cold weather work coat about 4 years ago, and it still looks nearly as good as the day I bought it, while blocking the wind and always being just the right temperature.
Who does not like a good Carhart jacket? My mother had one with custom embroidering. It faded a lot over the years but never stopped working right up till her death. In fact I need to find that jacket. Should be in storage someplace.
I just wish they were still made in the U.S.A. I hate paying high price just for a name on a product and getting inferior products that really aren't as good as my old one's either. But, their F.R. clothing is pretty good though. Funny thing though, the F.R. jeans are the same weight denim as my older jeans, but much thinner than my newer non F.R. jeans, hmmmm.
Watching this, I took a quick look inventory from where I’m sitting. Artic X bibs, Artic X shell, regular ducks x2, active hood x 2, hoodie x1 and insulated pants covering my behind. That’s not what’s in the closets or in the work truck. I don’t spend money on clothes. I spend money on Carhartt. Just as important as my Klein’s.
I buy Carhartt irregulars online. I can't find a flaw. It's new stuff and wears great. Half the price. Eaglegards 🦅... P.S. Somehow that online store sorted out stuff made in USA.
I used to wear Carhartt, but never again (my last C26 held up for about 12 years). Their sizing is way off. Ordered an XLT, based on their own sizing chart, and it was freakishly huge. Exchanged it for an LT, and couldn't fit into it. If only they made a "large-and-a-half"... I refuse to support a company that doesn't know how to measure and make products that fit. Bought a Berne jacket from Tractor Supply and it's much better (and cheaper!).
Agreed. Carhartt is real quality, but they discontinued their logger pants. I was TOTALLY bummed. I've been wearing these at work for decades. Still don't know why?????????
I love my double wall Carthart pants.... at one time, that was all I purchased. $28 a pair. $60 a pair now priced me out so I live with the poor quality Dickie brand now. Still wear my 15 year old Carthart jacket every winter.
My sister used to work in one of the Kentucky plants. Her boss got calls from Demi Moore thanking them for Bruce’s clothes. I’m sure most of you know Bruce Willis wears Carhartt stuff in his movies specially made for him without labels. The also started doing product testing once rappers started wear their stuff. That unfortunately comes with gang affiliation. I used to have a Jacket they wouldn’t sale in the US because they thought it would be popular with gangs. It was a long, heavy, black parka. It was made for people working on offshore oil plants. You can tell stuff not for the US market because it doesn’t have the square logo we all know. It will have Carhartt embroidered on it. (This might have changed since she worked there in the 90’s.) Will you do CC Filson? I have loved their stuff for a while, and all the Alaskan guys I know swear by it. It looks they they are trying to be trendy as of late. It makes me scared for the quality of the brand going forward.
You can tell who belongs to what culture depending on who wears those jackets. For the most part. West of the Cascades in Oregon it is really too diverse to tell who belongs to what camp as someone that might look conservative might be very leftist and someone that looks leftist might be very conservative.
Haven't got to check the channel in a few days hope you had a Merry Christmas and let's welcome in this new year together with the coming of the Hercules line at HF! The new shirt for Christmas is DAD af.
Here in Florida where warm clothing is a non issue, I still like my Carhartt jeans, hat and hoodie. Got'em at Tractor Supply though I think Rural King may carry Carhartt as well. Given Carhartt's history, aren't rappers wearing the brand guilty of cultural appropriation?
