This WNBA offseason, I'm taking a look at WNBA teams that have come and gone, but not forgotten. Starting with the Cleveland Rockers, one of the charter teams in the WNBA's first season in 1997.
The year 2003 was a pivotal year for the WNBA. Going into that season, to franchises, Utah and Orlando relocated and two franchises, Portland and Miami dissolved their operations. The Utah Starzz moved to San Antonio and became the Silver Stars while the Orlando Miracle moved to Connecticut and became the Connecticut Sun.
They need to bring back the Rockers!!! I’m pretty sure it was a female version of LeBron James growing up in Cleveland somewhere 🤣 but didn’t have the motivation to bring a championship to her city due to the franchise defunct
