Great vlog Nick. I’m finishing my PhD at the moment and I have done an ethnographic case study. Originally from the UK but my fieldwork is set in the UAE exploring the experiences of female Emirati students engaged in a western discourse curriculum. As I’m coming up to writing a full first draft, I’m attempting to think of what my answer would be in my mock viva in terms of defending the validity of using ethnography as an insider based researcher as well as an outsider based researcher.
