Background dancers are important there as the entire song is in question and answer format. Secondly the setup of the song is based on Konkan/Goa region of Bharat(India), where there are lots of konkani people who are mainly fisherman. And there is a many decade old tradition of KONKANI FOLK SONGS, which is mainly a group dance format. The song is similar to that.

This is the only song where the crowd (chorus) sings the main song where as Madhuri the lead sings the chorus line (which is same line every time) It's a song based on a folk dance from state of Maharashtra... And Goa...mostly coastal region where fishermen are and some of them are Christians...hence the cross. It is a group dance and her friends/neighbours from the community are teasing her. Madhuri s known for her dancing skills and the expressions. When you watching her song next time remember not to take off eyes from the screen....lol
