A filmmaker's intimate phone calls with her brother explore his fragile recovery from opioid addiction. Using imaginative animation, they journey both into the cosmos-a place her brother has encyclopedic knowledge about-and an all-too-real world where shame and pain take their toll. As the estranged siblings reconnect, the brother holds out hope that sharing his stories will help others facing similar struggles.

The 2016 CDC guidelines that Melania Trump created and Donald taken credit for was just wrong for those who became addicted by doctors through big pharma, treatments to decrease slowly tampering off every other week or so instead of just a immediate cut off should of been considered for patients of these doctors. In regards to those whom become addicted by illegal street use, that is different and they should be just cut off by focusing on arresting the dealers still and arresting those in procession off.

I relate this on almost every level. From the time clean to the reasons I want to stick around a while longer. I got clean in August of 2021 at 31 years old, after getting high since I was like 22ish. My mom passed that October and it completely broke our family's heart to no end. She was SOOO proud of me and happy that she was able to see the old me again before she passed, along with the rest of the family of course, and that really helps to me to try my very hardest to continue to stay sober. I couldn't live with myself knowing how heartbroken she'd be if I went back down that path again.... This was a great video and explains the situation of addiction very well. Stay sober everyone!! R.I.P. My Mommy Angela!!:)

@@codystacey267 condolences to your mother. I am stuck in a similar situation with being prescribed narcotics every month but I have successfully reduced on my own which is dangerous but felt I needed too. I have never taken non prescribed narcotics and do not ever plan to but many do not know the same ingredients found in illegal drugs are within legal drugs so the risk is always still there and dangerous. Congratulations on your recovery and continue to make your mom proud from the heavens above.

I highly recommend Intensive Outpatient (IOP) therapy, not just for addictions but any mental health issue. I’m not an addict, but did several weeks of IOP a year ago for childhood trauma. It greatly improved my self esteem and confidence. I no longer have a chronic sense of inadequacy. It made me much more compassionate with myself and taught me how to have healthy, assertive boundaries with other people. All of my personal relationships are much better now, most importantly, my relationship with myself.

@@AllOfOurCats it's not a strangers question, it's a normal question, most people want to get off substitution (exept those on high doses who like getting a bit high off their meds), it just isn't always as easy as they hoped, actually many people cirse suboxone and say it's worse to get off then methadone 🤷‍♀️

Addiction is a disease that is spiritual in nature. Unfortunately, mental health services and drug replacement therapy are not enough to keep us addicts clean (although those services do help to an extent). Belief in a power greater than ourselves that can help us not only stay clean, but find a new way to live, is what I have found works for myself and countless other addicts that I know. That power does not have to be a religious entity. Drug replacement therapies carry a risk of addiction as well. I know several recovering addicts who used methadone or suboxone to get high. My best friend’s mother died of a suboxone overdose in 2017. I pray for all of us addicts, in recovery or actively using. We do recover.
