He doesn't care, but at the same time does a little, he still loves his brother and shows sort of care for people around, he still can throw hands if it's something really really important fight for, yet still very monotone, lazy, a little melancholic of sorts despite still cracking jokes

This and 'sans.', by j-bug. Sometimes people get lost in the canon / made up essence of a character. Sans is a mystery for the most part, no vivid memories of past resets, very few emotions, rationalizing to the point of "it is what it is"

He knows that with 1hp-attack he can't do much. So he waits out of sight until you get enough love to suffer from karmic retribution, then he does what he can knowing its uncertain but what else can he do. Such a fascinating character

Technically he wouldn't do this. He would just say "that bastard" and that's it. I saw it in a meme comparision between him reacting all angry at Papyru's death, and him reacting canonically. So this wouldn't either be how he would react by canon.

@@Litl_cool_sans you do realize he’s a person with emotions, right? People with emotions generally get really upset when you kill their family members. He’s nonchalant in most of the game, which is where this characterization comes from; that doesn’t mean he’s going to act that way when he’s grieving. Crying is a normal response to grief for people with all sorts of personalities and you’re acting like it’s not. Stop doing that

@@i_am_anxious0247I get what you’re saying but there really isn’t enough proof that sans would be crying canon wise, so I think this is more of a fanon version, canon would most likely do the pupil disappearing thing canonically, we’ve also never seen sans cry in the game, the closest I think sans would be to crying would be his death in the geno route but at the same time there not enough proof because he goes outside our view.

No that’s not canon the game makes it clear that he’s genuinely pissed off that you killed his brother he just isn’t the type to wear his emotions on his sleeve or cry about it sans not caring about his brother’s death is very much fanon and not what his character is actually like this is the fandom over correcting the 2016 fanon sans without realising that they’re just pushing the pendulum in the opposite and equally extreme direction

actually thats the third type of sans i call "anti-fanon" since its made just to spite fanon and isnt exactly canon. canonically sans isn't fazed all that much because he doesn't want the player or us to get the last laugh, and doesnt seem to be fazed too much. not sure if "womp womp" will fit canon sans though but it probably wouldn't since he still respects his brother even if his vision of the world is more nihilistic :V

@@drrenwtfrick don’t get me wrong, sans does care about papyrus, but he’s basically passive-aggressive the rest of the game if you kill him in a neutral route, he knows you have some sort of “special power” as he calls it. and while he hates us, he won’t go out of his way to fight us unless he ABSOLUTELY has to. Like in the geno route, and it’s not like papyrus is the only thing sans cares about so..

Well, with what little information we have, and what information we do, Sans is pretty laid back, and indifferent, only going out of his way to break the promise made after you've killed almost the whole underground, he doesn't lose his mind and step in right when you kill his brother, if I'm correct, the only time he really says anything about you killing his brother is during a neutral route, where you dust Papyrus. The reason people consider this version of Sans as the 'cannon' version, is due to the fact that he's lazy, and really indifferent, from what we see, he states he 'can't afford not to care anymore' during his fight, meaning that despite you killing his brother, it won't send him in to action, only taking it once, like I said, you try killing off the whole population if the underground. Yes, like you said, there is no 'cannon' Sans mood, what we have is a lazy skeleton that drank ketchup a single time, or a lazy skeleton that drinks ketchup and has a mental breakdown over his brother's death, as far as I see, we have no in-between. Now yes I'll admit, I'm grasping at straws here, but he seems more accurate, cannon, if you will, being mostly indifferent to things, like how we don't exactly see him care about his own death, because it's clear he knew it'd happen. TLDR; Funny bone man has no cannon, he make pun and be lazy, but we don't see much emotion from him, mainly just chill bone guy.

Dusttale sans does have a lot of guilt in killing papyrus, that's why he kills him for last so that he's distanced enough to be able to kill him, even then he still has a ton of regret when he kills him
