Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

Good, most times we come against depression to "feel" good, but the joy of the Lord is to serve God and others.

I needed this. I need to quit seeking out people and go back to God. Can’t wait to hear his voice and see his face. This was much needed. I’ve much spiritually. Which is why I’m in the cold hearted state I’m in. It is self inflicted. I hope others in the body of Christ are in much better shape than I.

Please pray for me as I’m currently in a deep, dark depression-due in part to sin and being distanced from God, also I isolate from others. I asked God for forgiveness but I still feel so guilty, sad and hopeless 😢

Praying for you Bruce! Be in the Word EVERYDAY and pray to Him with FAITH. His Grace IS SUFFICIENT! I also recommend checking out two Christian documentaries on RU-vid American Gospel: Christ Alone and Christ Crucified. I have never seen a more sound and biblical defense for the Gospel then in those two documentaries. It was very encouraging to my Spirit!

Very wise indeed. But not all depression is directly caused by things we have done. It's a favorite tool of Satan, In my experience. How wonderful it is to know the Shepherd is never closer than when His own are troubled. He just waits for us to reach up.

I’ve been chastised…I can’t even describe, except perhaps dead inside?. Feelings as if one can loose their salvation. I couldn’t ❤cry or laugh etc. … When God tells you to stop, one better listen. I learned my lesson, and I’m grateful ❤ Never Take what Jesus did on the cross for granted. With Continued Sin as a Christian Comes Consequences , if truly saved. I’m so thankful for His Grace - His Mercy- His Everlasting Love and Forgiveness ❤ ( I think I put this in the wrong sermon) Still, may it help one if needed .

Another great way to cure depression is through metabolic, ketosis and taking out of sugar from the diet. The gut is connected to the brain and sugar feeds on inflammation

Yes, diet is very important. A bad diet can help lead us into depression. Keto, plenty of water, and exercise are great. But also taking vitamins, and proper vitamins, in example, methylated B-complex vitamins, L-Theornate and glycinate magnesium, and vitamin D. These ones really do help with depression... And God gave these to us for natural medicines. I know all of this from my personal experience.

It's a strange thing to have so much joy in your heart and be in the pit of despair in your mind. I have no rational logical reason to be depressed. Seven years after Jesus saved my life (and stopped me from doing something stupid) and saved my soul, there is a cloud that follows me that has never fully lifted. My entire life. 40 years. Half of which I've used food and an eating disorder to cope, and for a short time (since delivered) drugs. The only time I really experienced a freedom from depression was during my first manic episode. I quite literally had to be out of my mind for a moment of feeling OK. And the comedown from that the most painful experience of my life. But at least I have hope and the source of hope himself. At least I know the sun will surely rise. This life is a bittersweet symphony. I long for the day he calls me home. I try to stay out of my head and keep my mind on him, always a song in my head, always reading the word, serving others to get off this selfish self-pity. Enough! Enough! It's gonna be ok! 🙏 He will work use even this for good.. Romans 8:28. I believe and I pray.

_And this is precisely why we cannot even fathom one english word that could possibly explain our state...not depression as any man may have known it, but the dark night of the soul. This marking my 20th year in it. There is no love of God as such. Maranatha_

Depression is caused by not studying THE BIBLE...READ NIGHT AND DAY...WATCH OUT FOR DISAPATED LIFE STYLE...you'll die without THE LORD 😢

St.Paul was PREESED to his limits and NEEDED a REST IM SURE you know the story being such a Master of the word WELL we are not as Faithful or Gifted as Paul and you NO JUDGE of ANYONE we dont serve YOU we serve JESUS SOoo who are you to JUDGE ANYONE ???
