The acting, I could forgive, as the only actors I can recognize from this is the guy playing Cpt Pete, who was the Mountie in Due South years ago; and I think the General was in Homicde Life on the Street TV show, which was pretty good. But, the movie should have focused on the building of the road as a metaphor for all the was f'd up about the war, the waste of money, lives, corruption, The West not fully understanding the place, etc... and should have ended with the road being built and then bombed or something. The side story of the soliders having the relationship was a waste of time; and the dynamic with the Aftghan leaders' power struggle didn't feel authentically written.

They buried stacks of mines, artillery projectiles (100 lbs) and 500 lb bombs. As the vehicles they were attacking got more mine resistant they upped the charges. As well many of them were set up to kill a Leopard tank that the Canadians had brought in by then. They also sometimes put gas cans in there to make sure everything that got blown up was also set on fire.

@@Hawkz00 #1 and #3 are Canadian. #2 is a Brit for longest shot. Food for thought. American snipers are fantastic no doubt, but our military is far smaller so the skill of our snipers have to be extremely high to compensate for lack of numbers. We all work together though, so it's a moot point.
