In today's true crime documentary, we're covering the case of Annie Kasprazak and analyzing it from an educational legal and psychological perspective.
This kid is a psychopath. Wow, 14 years old and he's able to murder someone he supposedly cares about in such a violent manner. I hope he's away for a loooooong time.
@@annebruecks738114... he was a loser so I don't understand why he would want to kill someone even if they are pregnant because it's not as if his life is going anywhere anyway.
@@annebruecks7381 he’s a bad kid. He wasn’t born bad. His upbringing made him that way. I blame the parents. Either through abuse, most likely neglect, he became rotten.
@@sirvilhelmofyonderlandSome kids are bad no matter how great their parents are. Some kids have horrible parents and a nightmarish upbringing, yet they turn out to be very good people. Therefore, regardless of the nurturing aspect, sometimes it truly is down to nature. There are always several factors, but nature is the strongest. A fine example of this would be the pit bull breed. I know we’re talking about humans, not canines, but it works pretty much the same way. And I know this will make many pit bull enthusiasts / owners angry, but the statistics don’t lie, including with regards to “lab mixes” / mixes which have pit bull genes. Countless pit bulls and pit mixes (bully breeds) are raised from puppyhood with the most love and best treatment, yet they still snap. This is because they were bred this way for many, many years. It’s simply in their nature. It’s also why they have so much “anxiety” and are “afraid of everything,” then end up chewing through doors and walls. Their nature dictates they destroy.
one of my colleague was very concerned of me reading about middle age serial killers. He even hid the book and said that it will affect me. Bless his pure heart. He passed away few years ago from diabetes complications. He was such a good christian.
Facts, the dad knew the whole time he wasn't at grandma's and then moved him out of the state asap. Once the kid saw his dad lie for him, he prolly told him the truth so dude knew for sure.
That's just sick... The first idea that comes to his mind after hearing his girlfriend is pregnant, is to murder her? And unnecessarily brutally even? This boy is deeply disturbed and should be locked away forever.
Can't understand why the father, the grandmother and Joanna were not charged with providing false information to the police as they did so to clearly obstruct the police investigation.
I think that any extra work for these cops would’ve caused blanket mental stress leave in their department🙄. Years of “investigating” Annie’s death (which sounds like the equivalent of about 3 days work) achieved basically nothing - Branching off onto related crimes would’ve possibly raised the bar a little - and that’s the last thing these low functioning clowns would want.
Child or not this guy shouldn't ever get out. The emotional detachment to do that to a girl who you think is carrying your child is proof that you shouldn't be allowed around innocent people that aren't corrections officers for the rest of your life.
The pregnancy was an aggravating factor. The leading cause of death in pregnant women is murder, often over unplanned pregnancy that the father/killer doesn't want.
Oh shut up, would you like it if you were an underage kid and had some girl going around telling lies that she was pregnant for you? i bet you wouldn't.
absolutely insane that the investigators didn’t immediately try to cross check and verify everything the kid (and his father) was saying by looking at phone records or anything other than just asking his friend and his family. I know it’s easy to look at this from an outside perspective and say they seemed suspicious all along but the boy “randomly” mentioned annie’s nose bleeding on his shoe, said he agreed to cover for HIS GIRLFRIEND sleeping with someone else and everything he said sounded like it was extremely rehearsed.
See I agree but I feel like the nose bleed thing could have been believe able. My husband and daughter get random ass nose bleeds all the time and some are messy. What threw me the most was him offering to take the blame about someone else sleeping with his girlfriend….like boy what? That doesn’t make sense. It would be one thing if he was simply pretending to be Annie boyfriend but he was actually her boyfriend. 🤦♀️🤷♀️😱
What do you mean the outside perspective? If thats the case then Detectives should invite armchair TrueCrimers to help them with their cases!? It's not OUR job. It's their job to BE suspicious. THEY have the experience, we don't. Plus that woman who was off her head on uppers or Meth or Coke. She sounded like she was lying through her teeth!!! I know what I sound like after a night out and NO you do NOT believe a word I say lol. Plus they caught a lucky crime with John but you could tell he was telling the truth though his house stank of a crime scene. I couldn't believe when they moved away from those lying boys! The Dad was so obvious with the wide stance legs and nonchalant way. It was TOO laidback for your sons good friend who has just been murdered and he had seen her that night. It was sooo rehearsed. In fact the only believable thing was the nosebleed lol! It was shocking. The boy was not upset or startled. And he laid on the cute boy act. Plus his friend was trying to be so 'cool man howdy' that it was obvious he was covering for his friend. I just thought straight off the LJ thing was BS. A gang?? And he's hanging out with you guys? Sleeping with her? Would a mother who is a social worker not 'see the signs that her daughter is hanging out with dealers/gang people'? Urgh. Lol, I thought it was awful Detective work. Like when they did not question Lori about her husband being shot by her brother.
@ir9567 no I haven't but I don't think we can say that based on one person's re-telling of the case and partial clips from interviews. You are purely making a assumption. Either way the detectives have to follow every lead otherwise reasonable doubt can be called into questions during the trial. They don't have to be proven innocent by the defense they simply have to prove reasonable doubt. The cops DEFINITELY should have asked more questions about crazy Lori brother shoot her husband. Simply based off the body cam footage that shit didn't even sound like self defense.
I was wondering about that a while back! I didn't know for sure, but I thought i remembered a guy and a girl that used to explore abandoned places and was pretty sure it was ewu!
Oh yeah! I never used to watch this channel because of that, and I've only started watching over this last week, then I wondered why I never gave it a chance hahaha 😂
Spoilers but the fact that he said his friend was sleeping when her nose started bleeding but then his friend said he SAW it happen is what tipped me off. The police didn't catch that? They didn't think to check the phone records?? It took them TWO YEARS to think of that??? Crazy
“Flat effect is concerning.” “Being concerned is reminiscent of a guilty person.” This is why I can’t stand that body language bs and analysis from amateurs. I prefer the investigations without commentary from youtubers. They contradict themselves every other sentence and will say anything to dramatize a situation. I have seen it happen time and again towards innocent people. (Not saying these people are innocent, just speaking in general terms.)
This one really hit close to home. Thank you for covering Annie’s story. I knew her and went to the funeral - it was absolutely packed. She was a great person who touched the hearts of those around her and didn’t deserve what happened. Miss you Annie, RIP
This breaks my heart. I felt awful for her and the people that adopted her from The first minute and actually reading a comment from someone that knew her breaks my heart. This poor girl deserved so much more and such a young kid makes me so upset. I’m sorry for your loss.
I'm truly sorry for the loss of your friend Annie, absolutely horrific what was done to her, especially from a child. Rest in peace little angel 🙏 Love and respect to you all from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤
You got that right. Seems the “company”, unsurprisingly, had no intentions of turning up. Only thing that does make sense. To be covering for his son he must’ve known the heinous thing he’d done - and it seems dad, & good ol’ girl nan for that matter, were ok with it.
I'll bet the trashy gran and dad told themselves Chris was "justified" in what he did because Annie was a tramp who had basically deserved it. People like that are all about "Rules for thee but not for me".
Who cares? The grandmother lives a few doors down. With that kind of convenience it makes sense he do so if he is going to have someone over rather than keep the kid around to hear and perhaps accidentally see whatever he and his "company" decide to get up to.
How the hell anyone that commits such a heinous crime could ever get parole is appalling. This man could be loose in 11 years. That's insane. He's a monster.
Yep. But he's both a minor and pled guilty - maybe they thought there was a chance he could barely get off if they went to trial, or if they were having trouble getting him charged as an adult.
Parole gives people a reason to behave and work towards something. The lack of this caused many prisoners to not care about their actions in prison, which is dangerous to other inmates and the COs.
@Rebekkashahtirmizi Rather than a pithy, twatty little comment like the one above, I would like to say thank you for your thoughts on parole. It's an interesting strategy to try and avoid re-offending isn't it. Anyhoo, have a good weekend 👍
Annie did not deserve any of that. Over a pregnancy rumor. Unbelievable. She thought she was running away with someone she loved. I cannot believe a 14 year old would stomp on a shovel on someone's head. Absolutely disgusting. 14 is so young. To be that evil at such a young age and take someone's life in such a cruel way...
I thought the same. How can anyone be that brutal, period, but at that age. That’s how he thought he should do it? Long and drawn out with a shovel edge… my god. 14….. poor poor girl. Her last moments must have been so confusing and scary.
@@kevinpurcell4211It's called a lack of upbringing and being raised by a computer and phone. Can't just let kids "figure it out" and not expect shit like this 🤦♂️
@@kevinpurcell4211 the daddy was also quick to be his alibi. he probably got away with a lot of stuff. This was a friend of mine and when she was murdered it shook me to my core. I was 13, a few weeks away from turning 14 when this happened. It’s still hard to believe this happened to her. Just watched ..and yh I was ready for the them to bust this Lj??then it ended up being her own bf??I'm sorry, for u...for her...and we can Def understand why this would bother u!!I can't fathom it myself,ESPECIALLY with what the inmate revealed!!that poor girl, was already unhappy with her life, and wanted to try to make something, AND wanted to believe in someone she thought was really there for her!!! U just never really know what is going on in someone's head!!no matter how close u are,no matter how happy that person acts,no matter anything!!😑✌️🥃
I watch a lot of these videos especially on this channel, but this case was the first time in a while I was genuinely so shocked at not only the plot twists and mist direction that occurred, but the way the victim died. How tf do you just stomp on someone’s face and not feel a thing and live your life after that??? He should be in prison the rest of his life!!! The fact that his first thoughts after committing his own gf’s murder, being that he “won’t get caught” just shows how much he lacks empathy and is def a psychopath
Annie was kind of a whack-job too, though. Faking a pregnancy requires a fair degree of mental derangement. There is no reason to do that other than manipulation, selfishness, deception, and revenge. Nobody in this story was innocent, not even the victim.
Knew the dad was a shady dude once he said he went to the bar and told his kid to go to his grandmas because he’s bringing company back if that isn’t a parent red flag idk what is
@@JustTryingToRU-vidso true, and unfortunately it's far to common in today's society. Parents are too busy partying and sleeping around to parent. 15 to life for murdering your (presumed) pregnant girlfriend with a shovel??? Do we really need to give this kid an out? There’s no correcting this behavior, keep him far away from society
@@LeeLeeCRNMan, the system sucks! If this would’ve happened to my child and with the community I live in, he might walk out that prison at 40, but he definitely wouldn’t be walking for long. I know God wants us to forgive and love each other but I would need His comfort and love to bring me through this. Fly high Annie
He got 15 to life. Judges do this for a reason. He was tried as an adult for a crime committed when he was a minor. If thr judge imposed a sentence that could seem excessively harsh, it is likely it could be overturned on appeal. Because the kid plead guilty, he wouldnt be able to appeal the conviction. But he could appeal the sentence. The appeals court would likely deny an appeal, since 15 years isnt unreasonable. But it is 15 years to life. The parole board will not be granting him parole any time soon. The graphic nature of the crime makes him a danger to society. He would be lucky to get out in 50 years.
I love out of nowhere the interviewer had to whisper " who's sal?" Is so funny for not reason, these types of things I find funny definitely make me believe I'm on the spectrum
I love the EWU channels bc y’all don’t just tell the story; you include information from all different professionals. It makes the story a lot more interesting when things are analyzed & broken down by people who know what they’re talking about instead of just commentary from a creator talking about the cases. It is obvious that y’all put a lot of work, research & effort into these videos to make them as informative as possible. Gives an entirely different perspective!! ❤❤
How has no one mentioned how crazy it is that John's house showed signs of a gruesome crime and that he ended up confessing to a separate kidnapping?! I know it would've derailed the story a bit but I was curious to hear more about that.
I mean, John was clearly BEFUDDLED by the name Annie. There was total sincerity in his responses. He was lost. Yeah, absolutely insane that he was involved in a unrelated kidnapping. I'm unclear if it happened the same night???
Annie lived near me. I never knew her but a lot of my close friends knew her personally and her death sent shockwaves through the community. The minute I heard her last name said, my blood ran cold. Im so relieved she got justice, but her loss is felt by so many regardless.
I don’t believe she got justice her family is going to pay tens of thousands of dollars to house and feed the person who killed her it’s terrible that we live in a country where you can kill someone in cold blood and then that family would pay for that killer to live he has no reason and should have no right to live for what he has done
Explaining away the blood on his shoes was a red flag right from the start. I've noticed that when people volunteer details like this with a clear explanation about where it came from, it's often a sign that they have thought thoroughly about how to avoid suspicion (when in fact it does the complete opposite)
I knew it from the begining. As soon as the father said "oh wait we are talking about last saturday, oh no I was coming home at..." he was obviously lying for his son. Disgusting, the whole family is disgusting. They should have been all charged. Shout out to the inmate who came forward and told tell. Let's hope this monster never gets out
I've only watched 18 minutes so far and this is unrelated to the case but I can't imagine how uncomfortable it would be as a kid to not be able to sleep in my home because my dad was brining over "company". Getting kicked out of the house has to feel awful, your kid isn't just some roommate, they're your kid and they should feel secure in your house.
Who you become is heavily based on your parents. Treat/teach your kid poorly and they will do the same to others. Clearly, this kid didn't have a good family to provide him an example of how to be healthy. That plays a huge role in why he ended up doing what he did.
His Dad is a crap person but parents deserve to have a life too. Nothing wrong with a kid going to Grandmas so a parent can get a break. It’s much better than parents that bring everybody they meet around their kids.
He probably told her to write the note and say “don’t come looking for me , I don’t want to be found. “ she was excited to leave with her boyfriend. They probably talked about it for a while. It’s definitely premeditated with acknowledgement for potential repercussions, because he meticulously planned what he wanted to happen. He probably made up an elaborate plan to get her to believe they were going to run away. He probably master minded and persuaded her to come with him. As a young in love teenager she was excited to go and probably wasn’t thinking about long term she just wanted to get away from the lies. I see myself in her. It’s crazy. It makes my chest hurt listening to how she lost her life to something like this. She was excited and ready to leave. She wrote the letter prior and it wasn’t rushed, she used proper grammar like commas in appropriate places and her handwriting and spelling was on point. To think you’re running away with your boyfriend and she’s all excited. To meet up with him to get k_lled out of nowhere. It’s heartbreaking. I pray for her soul and her family. He took her future away. I wish she could have had someone to confide in. He is evil. He planned this, played her for an extended time, coerced her to write a letter to save him time of people finding out. If these is true that proves premeditation. The family knew but feared losing him at so young. Also, I might add, I think I missed it but did they ever find out what the First Lady knew really. The woman who was seemingly high came in and made this whole story. How did she know where she died. I guess because she was going off the news report. She had to be on an upper to go in and falsely place yourself at the scene of a crime. She may know more because she added the change her clothes part , was the entire outfit released? She knew blood was involved. Idk I think she knew too much to almost have someone falsely convicted of murder. Maybe she was there and knew Chris and wanted to help him. Then she knew about LJ RIGHT? How when this happened. Then she said her jaw moved in a weird way. And I don’t know. THIS IS ALL ALLEGED OR IN MY PERSONAL OPINION. REST IN PEACE, ANNIE !! My condolences to her loved ones.
She didn't know shit, everything she talked about was publicly known information and she added some of her own drug fuelled embellishments on top. Honestly I think it's a little disgraceful that the cops took this middle aged crackhead with obvious ulterior motives at her word
8/10 has the same value as 80/100 or 0.8 4/5 = 8/10 = 12/15 = 16/20 = 20/25 It's all just higher fractions that equal the same thing, 80%. Apparently that felon/addict knows more about 4th grade math than you do.

I can confirm, as a teacher, girls write their bf's name all over everything. I don't think it always means they are obsessed. It's pretty normal. The other info in the journal about baby etc; however, is an indication of obsession.
@IGcantstopfactsbreh Could be or they're just bored. The really obsessive lack a stable father figure. Saw theirs leave. Desperate trying to find ways to lock in who they think they love. So, so 😢!
@SUPER_WOLFMOON Yep, and unfortunately females in this society are too often given a pass for trying g babytrap men with unwanted pregnancies. When you don't give men the same equal protection to opt out of Parenthood: i.e childsupport murder becomes an option in the minds of desperate sociopaths
Sounds like these cops were inept. They spent two years investigating red herrings, whilst all along, the phone data of everyone involved not only showed Chris's location at the bridge that night, but that his family were also lying about his alibi. It is well known that phone data is one of the first things to investigate and often a crucial line of enquiry.
I think there was plenty of probable cause (blood on his shoe, regardless of BS story about a nosebleed) to get a warrant for cell records. ALWAYS the intimate partner is the first potential suspect. Seems very sloppy investigation.
What took the investigators so long to follow up on the call logs and cellphone data? It took 2 years to circle back to the boyfriend when they could have just got a warrant for the phone records.
I just started listening to this case and hoping it’s as accurate as it really was. Horribly I assisted on this case. Brings back a lot of sad memories for Annie and the original detective Derek Johnson who was promoted to Sergeant while investigating this case then was murdered in the line of duty shortly after being promoted. Johnson is the first officer interviewing Chris in the small room. RIP Annie and Derek!!

Not the brightest... like imagine going to the police to try and help an investigation, but ONLY if you get immunity. How about just doing it because it's right?
My jaw dropped and I literally had to stop what I was doing when they said he took the shovel placed it on her forehead and then repeatedly stomped on it. A 15 year old?? Like what would possess you to do something so horrific?? I really hope he never gets paroled. May Annie rest peacefully 💔
Not at all. For me it’s the curiosity of trying to understand how a person can become a killer. My brain isn’t able to compute that; and at such a young age! I’m 47 and I haven’t hurt anyone, I get nervous just watching people fight on video clips!
The police could have solved that case so much sooner if they had actually taken the right steps and checked phone evidence immediately. And a search warrant of chris' house would reveal things immediately as well. They just botched that whole investigation.
They must have collected the trash with the notes in the initial investigation.. they had rock solid evidence for two years and just didn't look at it.
Okay but if they did that would they have had that credit card theif admitting to covering up a murder with totally different guys thinking it was the same woman?
Grandma & dad should’ve been charged with accessory & got time! Also 2 years to finally investigate phone records of the main players in the case, that’s terrible, that’s like one of the first things you should do!
You guys are so good at telling these stories! A lot of the time I will get confused due to all the people and timelines, but you make it very easy to follow along :^)
This is absolutely insane, so many terrible people in this story. Right when i heard chris and spencer say they had never seen or met LJ i knew he wasn't a real person and probably made up by one or both of the boys. Idk how they were able to fool the cops for that long with a whole ass made up person
It took them 2 years to actually test if there was any blood from a nose bleed in the friends house? Also, with the killers weird behavior during his initial interrogation, they didn’t think to check his cell phone location the night of the murder? Seems like the cops fumbled quite a bit, but then again they were lead down the John/LJ path, but still, it took them 2 years?
This stuff threw me off as well. Like, why not investigate everything? Not to mention them not seeing Chris' plans he had thrown in the trash until 2 years later? Wth were they doing?
Idk, maybe I've just been watchin' too much true crime stuff in my day, but I'm utterly BAFFLED at how shoddy the detective work was on this case!!! How TF did the police not seek the call records of Chris or Spencer? Why TF would they just accept their stories at face value? The nosebleed thing was such an OBVIOUS lie! Like how convenient is it that Chris is sittin' there stone-faced being interrogated for the murder of HIS GIRLFRIEND, and he just so happened to get blood from her on his shoe of all places? Why would he even feel the need to mention that if, ya know, HE DIDN'T KILL HER?! And how about the fact that the cops just ran with that LJ story without ever finding him? The idea that Chris just went along with a story that Annie had sex with some random dude named LJ and potentially impregnated her, and Chris is just totally cool with that? What NORMAL ASS PERSON would be cool with that?! And then that crazy meth head chick that came forward tellin' this bizarre ass bullshit ass story all happily and gleefully about a murder so nonchalantly as if she was talkin' about a funny anecdote that happened at her job last week. How TF could the police even POSSIBLY buy that?! She was OBVIOUSLY lying!!! And then worst of all, you mean to tell me it took TWO WHOLE ASS YEARS for these cops to finally search through the phone records?!?! That shit should've been the **FIRST** step!!!
Honestly I usually try to avoid looking at an investigation and calling out "the obvious" steps that should have been taken, but this just feels like a series of giant misses. Following the LJ red herring, the nose bleed story not really being pressed harder, hiz feelings on her getting with LJ a supposed 2nd boyfriend, phone records?!! Maybe in 2012 they just hadn't thought of it, but kids still texted a bunch back then how did they not see that and focus on him.
Other cases probably came up. Trust me I'm right outside of Baltimore, people get thrown under the bus quick especially a foster kid girl who was considered fast for her age, runs away a lot, pretending to be pregnant, it's sad but they probably didn't give a fuck about her as a person.
unfortunately, what else is new. it seems like its so rare for LE to actually give a f and do their job, that when they do were amazed and have to commend them. i know it's a hard job. but damn it's like every other case I watch, im screaming at LE for mishandling the case in some way. 😮💨
I have grew up my entire life so far in Utah and have never heard of this case. It makes me feel so horrible about all the times I ran away from home as a child and left my parents horrified and wondering where I was. Bless this young girls soul…. @jessissac9320 if my family member murdered someone, why would I defend him? It's my duty to let this person get caught. This bs "loyalty" thing that you're advocating for is what makes criminals thrive and kill again
Phone records take awhile. Crime shows make all this stuff look instant, but it often takes time for warrants to go through, records to be compiled by the providers, all the paperwork to go through, etc.
They don’t take 2 years! These cops totally gave up on the shaky kid and chose to believe a tweaker instead of following multiple lines of questioning and evaluating evidence. The kid acted totally suss. The only halfway believable person was the friend. Still ZERO surprise at the motive and the perp.
@@XShadowAngel This is true. But in this case not immediately subpoenaing the phone companies to find out who had the blocked numbers was also central to the wild goose chase tangent they went on is just dumb. And THAT should not have taken 2 years. They would have had a lot more answers earlier and could have re-focused their investigation if they had studied the cell phones right away.
I absolutely love how the guy who’s using words like “dude” and “Hella cool” needed to tell the cop at 8 out of 10 and 80 out of 100 are the same thing. Lol they just elucidates exactly where we’re at in the standard for cops and detectives these days.
I remember being 12 and my brother 16,and my mom answering the door to the police. We were both very close to her. She didn't even answer to the "good morning mam" of the police officers, she turned and grab my and my brothers necks and just asked: whom did it and what???? She scared the life out of us and the sh/+ out of the police officers. They were there just to ask about a neighbor.... We are now in our 40's and we never ever had any trouble with the authorities. I unfortunately I found my 14 year old son buying weed carts off of Snapchat & immediately turned it over to a family friend that was a detective. It sucked but it scared & pissed me the fuck off that my son was meeting grown men to buy weed. He didn't get in trouble as the detective kept his name out of it but I believe in accountability & would never lie ESPECIALLY about something as horrifying as murder. 😢. You had a good momma, I'm sorry you lost her. I was a bad kid, my dad a Judge & I can't tell you how many times he turned my ass over to the police. I'm super thankful because as an adult having a child I finally understood why..
my mother has always told me and my siblings from day one we better not mess around and screw up because she’ll be the first to report us and hold us accountable and THENNN on top of that we better pay and hope we never make it out of jail because what she’s going to do to us would be so much worse than anything we could imagine the officers would do. I’m way more scared of my mom and how my actions affect her than i am detectives and she raised me to be like that. i won’t lie or do awful things especially legally becasue i’m afraid she’ll find out and send me back to where i can from smh
What a good, loving Mother. She brought you guys up right. They don’t make women like that anymore. You and your brother are very lucky to have a mama bear like that. ❤️
You should figure out why you are so subconsciously 🧲 to true crime. What are you really trying to figure out? Probably something to do with early childhood and parents
@@persephoneperry776wtf XD, that's such a wild take lol. The likely answer is that it takes alot of time and resources to get phone company's to comply with a request, and they didn't see the point when both kids had already been cleared with what the police thought at the time was a solid alibi.
@@minxironwood adopted theory is wack. But they should have checked the phone records ASAP. shouldn't have taken the word of two kids. It was a mistake.
@@minxironwood nah. Chris ditched school that day. These detectives are fkn morons. Even without the cell phone, Chris should’ve been number one suspect until all his whereabouts were verified.
The amount of people hurt or murdered aling that area is insane! The Jordan River Parkway runs from the southern Wasatch Front valley all the way north towards Ogden. Ive run many times, and now people dont go there at all! Drugs, needles, rapists, pschopaths, its insane! My father was a very decorated officer; including Chief of Police. I WISH i could unhear and unsee so much!
Bruh I’ve seen cops leave a handcuffed person in their car on train tracks as a train was coming and seen cops gun a man down cause they got the address wrong at 2am. I’m not surprised anymore.
I’m not a cop lover, but they are just men. Cops aren’t perfect, we agree, but they aren’t all knowing deities. Mistakes happen, but when they happen in life and death situations, that’s tragic.
He didn’t think he said it’s the same thing Ctfuhe was positive it was 😂🤣🤣😂 The detective was TRASH as hell and woulda thru the dude in jail for saying one wrong thing
This situation is infuriating! The entire family should face charges for their deceit and the information they concealed. It's outrageous that he only received a 15-year sentence. Justice seems far from served, given the severity of their actions and the lives impacted by their dishonesty.
I thought the first thing the police would do is check cell records to confirm the information they were given by all parties , these police dont seem very smart sometimes. What a waste of time and pain for the victims family. Rip Annie 😢😢
It's impossible to do this since mostly you need a warrant to confirm cell records. So it's not like police can just go about and check everyone's location to confirm they're telling the truth. You have to have a solid reason for suspicion to do so first, and run that through court. There's been some exceptions for this but it's not always as easy and could possibly jeopardize an investigation if they gather evidence unlawfully. Edit: Need to clarify that some laws regarding this were changed a couple years back. And it seems to be easier now with looser rules. I'm not sure how it works per different states tho. But generally, there can be all sorts of reasons why they're not allowed to either search an area, or obtain certain records/information.
I completely understand that the police have to be as thorough as possible, but how did they ever believe she was killed somewhere else and dumped by the bridge? There's no way she would have bled that much by the water if she was killed at a different location first...I'm glad it was finally solved, and that he's serving his sentence. RIP Annie.
That bit had me confused as well. It didn't really make sense why someone would bring a body without concealing it just throwing blood all around. Like, what if they get caught doing all of that? The vehicle would also have blood everywhere. Also the fact that Joanna literally gave away a motive for framing someone she doesn't care about (to get immunity) and only used knowledge that is already publicly available... But I can't blame the cops too much for wanting to investigate a seemingly good lead, especially since she had done a lot of research. Why weren't the phone records taken earlier to confirm the alibis? RIP Annie indeed
At only 14 yrs Chris murders his 'girlfriend' and in a way that's close up and personal and feels nothing....that's being a real psychopath , R.I.P. Annie
Who else knew that Joanna Franklin was making up her stroy? She just wasn't believible and you don't bleed from your ears from getting slammed into a wall. In addition, Chris was way too stressed in that interview. Then he throws a nose bleed out there. Finally, if they couldn't find LJ that Chris and Spencer were both pointing to, then he probably didn't exist. I don't think I'm the only one watching that figured out those things.
I knew it instantly because I was expecting it. In the beginning of the video, they mentioned someone is going to falsely frame someone as a revenge and she was the first one to do so in the video.
Bleeding from ears didn't make sense but she might got confused if there was much blood .. however she did a great job getting lazy police put their hands on another crime ..
It is nice they included the interview with John. I found that his demeanor was sincere, immediately. Even though he is not the freshest guy, he seemed honest. I than knew that Joana was telling BS ließ.
Imagine loving a boy, writing his name all over your notebook not knowing hes how your story ends. And the feeling of pure excitement that youre going to go meet your boyfriend to run away just to get shovel stomped into your face. Thats just evil. And over a lie
Imagine if that woman hadn't made a scene, no one would've ever known about that kidnapping. Sure it took longer to get justice for Annie, but her death, solved another crime.
@@ninetailedfox579121 Yeah. And demanded a pregnancy test. I just can’t wrap my mind around how he got to “I don’t want to be a father, so I guess murder is the only solution.” Absolutely psychopathic.
And his dad doesn't seem to be a responsible parent. He obviously was a troubled boy and committed a gruesome crime. He wasn't sentenced harsh enough. These types of violent crimes should ALWAYS be life in prison with no parole.
Or death considering it was a child! I have a daughter who just turned 7. She is never out of my sight. I also taught her if someone ever tried to kidnap her. She knows to bite enough to break skin, scratch enough to to make them bleed, pull their hair, kick and scream and if they cover her mouth bite their hand. I also told her to if necessary leave something behind, she always wears bracelets or a hair tie, and leave some of her hair on it. She may be little for her age, but she is strong.
@@ashleysmith5001the us has never put any minor on death row 🤦🏻♀️ u are an ignorant fk .. minors don’t get life without parole or death penalty so maybe u need to learn the laws before spewing nonsense
This is such a tragic, disturbing case and I hope the family can heal in their time. What disgusts me almost as much as the crime are the sick people BLAMING her for her death because she's a teenage girl and lied about a pregnancy. Starting to wonder if there are potential murderers lurking in these comments. Thank you for stellar content as usual, EWU. I appreciate the compassion you give the victims in every case and highlight their lives so the focus isn't just on the degenerate murderers and criminals.
@@bojohannesen4352lying about pregnancy isn't good but that doesn't excuse killing someone over it. If that guy is willing to go that far, he would have commited crimes for something else later
Him all out of the blue felt the need to mention she had a nosebleed and dripped blood on her shoe. Come on man, those detectives amateurs or what? Also...After 2 years those genius investigators were thinking all of a sudden, hey, lets check the phone details and find out were the few people involved were those moments????
How did these investigators just write chris off as a suspect and didnt bother to fact check his alibi and story until 2 YEARS LATER, just scary that a 14 y/o can do something like this.
It was pretty obvious very early on that "LJ" was imaginary. Rest in peace 🕊️, Annie. 💔 I feel awful for her adoptive parents, who bonded to her during foster care and loved her enough to become her family. She deserved a chance, a future. Those guys are so disgusting for this. 🤬
Right? Didn’t even give the “guy” a proper name lmao. Giving a shady mystery man figure a two initial name is literally one of the oldest tropes in the book 🤦♀️ and they fell for it 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Trashy people like this exist in a lot of places and sadly their votes count just as much as yours and mine. It always infuriates me when people who lie for othere or make false rape claims dont get punished too often.
How is this channel popping out so many consistent A+ stories??? This is easily my favorite true crime channel….. I feel like I’m a expert in interrogation techniques and body language without a degree… Thanks EWU❤
@@DaisyJane0318 I know, I was just being silly, it was a reference to something said in the video, can't quite remember exactly now as I watched it a while ago but something along the same lines is mentioned somewhere in there
What really got my attention during Chris's first interrogation was when the father tell Chris he called him and Chris turns to look at his dad and asked "you did"? That right there was a red flag for the detectives that this was all rehearsed between the father and son and during the interrogation the father adds this little bit.
Exactlyy!!! He asked "You did?" and then a few sentences later he corrects his dad about the time he called him!!! The call he didn't remember! Unbelievable.
I would never let this young man out of prison, he's just to dangerous to be allowed in public, and even his family should be afraid of him. Thanks for sharing this story and kudos to the wonderful work that these officers do every day!💕
How is it that every video I watch truly IS the most twisted case I’ve ever seen.. I know the content is ultra sensitive cases of traumatic situations but EWU is the crew to deliver the goods. Emmy award worthy
Gotta love that tunnel vision. Not checking into any other leads because you have an informant and no other proof is inexcusable. The police botched this and thank goodness they FINALLY did their jobs in the end. Annie and her loved ones deserved better.
The craziest part is John would have most likely went to jail for Annies murder if Joanna didn't crack and tell the truth. Not only did John confirm he knew the victim, but that she was recently at his house. Then there was the house that showed a clear indication of a struggle. All being backed up and verified by the witness Joanna with her lies in court. I really think they would have convicted him, even without the fact that none of Annie's DNA was there. And thats some scary shit right there. But the real MVP was the inmate who came forward and provided the DA with enough information to charge chris as an adult.
I don't think so, because there was blood all over his house that wasn't Annie's, so he obviously assaulted the shit out someone, but obviously not Annie.
@@horsepanther believe whatever you want Chester Chestertons. You clearly don't realize how the police operate when they are backed in a corner. It's not like there have been thousands of innocent people condemned to jail . Only to find out later that they didn't do it 🙄. You want to believe we live in a perfect society. But that perfect society doesn't exist Franky Franklin. You should probably open up your eyes Joe Joe.
Can't believe it took 2 years to figure this out. From the second he mentioned the bloody nose he should've been the prime suspect, they should have checked his phone records immediately
The cops really did a horrible job on this. I feel like it was so obvious from the beginning who did it. Maybe they didn't want to believe a 14 year old could do that..but either way they messed up. Also I'm from Utah and today I've watched 3 different videos true crime that happend in utah that I've never heard of! 😳
Preventable isn't exactly what I would call it. You can try to force teens apart but they'll always find a way to snap back together eventually. They'd just be seeing each other in secret and she'd be in just the same amount of danger either way because she (appeared to) wanted to get pregnant, and he definitely didn't and would still be a total POS psychopath and if it wasn't her, it'd be somebody else that upset him enough. Nobody could predict how dangerous the kid's inner mind had become. He's a time bomb and they always blow eventually
