Vera is a character I've been waiting for on TV for decades. An older lady who likes her own company and makes no excuses for who she is and what she wants. It's so rare. In fact, I can't think of any other.

One of the best shows in years. My favorite :)

Love Brenda Blethyn. What an amazing woman and talented actress. I,m so grateful, I,ve had a chance to view her in various roles, and absolutely love, the Vera character, that she has brought life to. Love that, a book can come to life, so realistically and identifiable, through the very human portrayal of a gifted actress, that lends some of herself, her true self to the existence of a fictional character that resonates either as someone you know or as part of yourself. Thankyou to the gifted writer, Ann Cleeves, whose imagination created her and then through Brenda Blethyn, who breathed life into her soul. Love it.

Vera actually tells her staff, "good job", now and they dress her much better now, too!! Stomping around taking people's coffee and food is so cute. DS Aidan is endearing with her.

Two of my favourite ladies at the top of their game! Brilliant!

Vera's a down to earth northerner and Brenda is a superb actor and brings her to life. Vera also showcases our beautiful northeast countryside and coast.

Lovely to see this recent interview with Anne and Brenda together. Think Brenda's been busy filming and perhaps resting a bit this year, not seen her in an interview for a while in the UK. Such a talented down to earth actor is a National Treasure, I also highly recommend her autobiography 'Mixed Fancies' written before she played Vera a fantastic account of how it all started for Brenda and all the marvellous work she has done over the years written by herself. Also hilarious in 'Little Voice' one of my favourite parts she has played amongst the many.

What a lovely interview! Both lovely and very talented women! LOVE Vera! I also love the way she dresses too! In love the way she is so productive of her team, like when one of her team was shot, you could tell she really felt it! Wonderful acting! Also wanted to say, being a disabled woman, it was great to see Helen!

Too bad another one bites the dust, as in Vera season 12 episode 01 they (Ann or the scriptwriters) finally went full-on (preaching) woke :(
