Pull up a chair to our roaring log fire and listen to Stave One of the second most famous Christmas story every told - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dicken.
My favourite book. I listen, watch and read so many things on A Christmas Carol every December. Looking forward to listening to you and Merry Christmas 🎅 Oh it was great to see you on NBC NEWS recently as well Richard..
One of the very best readings I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into it. It’s a great way to put us all in the Christmas spirit.
My all time favourite book, my favourite audio version is narrated by Tom Baker...I'm sad enough to have several. However, you have just overtaken that, please...PLEASE finish the book if you have the time 😁
Wow - I knew you’d be good at this but I’m blown away at your voice talent and skill - it’s quite a bit more difficult than people imagine, to read into a microphone with such precision and sound so professional, as if performing to an audience **and voice inflections**!!! Oh I wish you would read another book for us! Anything gothic and dark and set in an era like this one. It wouldn’t have to be Dickens, though this is so nice. Perhaps you’d consider it? There are a few Jack the Ripper books that are compelling and fictional that I’ve read but never heard before, like the Ripper Diaries. Provided they’re prefaced as fictional it might be fun to pretend to be the Ripper, himself?
As long as you haunt my house pleasantly! I'm going to put the other staves up over the course of the next few months. I toyed with doing a stave every Christmas, but then realised it would be 2026 before the whole audio book was complete!
