Here is the last chapter of our first audio book project: “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. We are releasing the book here on RU-vid in chapters over the next days. This will be a fully dramatized performance including sound effects and music and a full range of voice actors.

The part where Bob toys with the idea of knocking Scrooge out and calling for the next paddywagon reminds me of the Reginald Owen and Gene Lockhart version where Scrooge delivers his presents to the Crachits in person and it was funny to watch all the Crachit family wonder if he'd finally cracked 🤣

Thank you for putting up these audio chapters! I read the book along with this. This audiobook has much more of a conversation between Fred and scrooge. My book does not have that conversation. Did you read from a version with additions?

The additions to the Scrooge-Fred conversation derive from the excellent George C. Scott Christmas Carol, and for my part I find them worthy additions.

I noticed that too, only because I was reading along, and was surprised to hear the dialogue extend here, and only here I think (save for bits where they changed narration about dialogue happening to actual dialogue, suited for the radio-play format). I guess you can't expect 100% faithfulness when it's dramatized, but it did stick out as strange. At the same time it's lovely that Scrooge mentions his sister, and sometimes I wish Dickens had elaborated the final Stave a bit more, instead of leaving it to later adaptations like Alastair Sim's to flesh it out so perfectly - but then Charles was probably rushing slightly to get in in shops by Christmas. Amazing he could write what he did in 6 weeks!

I have wanted to read the book for years but for some reasons kept forgetting. This was amazing! Me and my grandma listened to this whole series over the course of a few days. The music, the voices, the atmosphere! You guys did great! Thank you :)
