A Classic HOI4 Germany Kaiserreich Game Where It All Goes Wrong, I try using only WW1 tactics as it worked the first time as Germany in Kaiserreich. Can I gain victory on Hearts of Iron 4 today?

Tanks existed in WW1… they’re one of the biggest contributors to winning the war.

No, they weren't lmao. WWI was hardly decided on the battlefield when it comes to the strategic level. Aside from the fact that they were barely deployed in any significant numbers, battles where they were useful didn't contribute much to the war anyways. The naval blockade of Germany won the war in the end.

Btw Alex "artillery leader" is a useless trait as it only applies to divisions that are majority artillery, which are useless

I was thinking the same thing, everyone does infantry + artillery WWI tactics but no one tries to continue the strategy of making the biggest, most armored landships. I wonder if you can strap a superheavy cannon onto a heavy chassis with fixed superstructure.

@@Vaelosh466Well, WW1 tanks were notoriously bad and completely ineffective in changing the tide of the war. The only reason they are significant at all is simply because they were invented at this time, but by no means would be a useful weapon of war until WW2.

The Eastern front would have been utter disaster and even worse for you Alex in my opinion if Austria-Hungary hadn't intervened and hold against the Russians after the collapse of Ukraine
