I used to believe that movies were for people with impotent imaginations until Stanley Kubrick proved to me that not only does cinema deserve its own place in art, but it actually transcends all forms of art. Behold a genius.
An action is considered crime only if the law i.e. the society (since the country is democratic) believes it to be so. With Alex rising to prominence and getting accepted by society, he didnt feel that his thoughts were criminal anymore. Hence also the reason, in the last scene people surrounding him clapped while he committed a vile act publicly.
While censoring the nudity is unfortunate (if admittedly necessary is some situations), the real, unforgivable crime is the PITCH SHIFT!!!! This isn't Symphony 9 in "almost but not quite E-flat minor"!!!
@@editingboy3604 I'm not sure, have you seen videos of death on live streams?, the embolism lips and the rolling eyes it's a common mark of suddenly death. I wonder why there are so few people who suspect his death at the end when there are many signs
An excellent movie, but I recently got a hold of the unabridged English version of the book and it's kind of a shame they skip the actual ending where Alex gets bored with the ultraviolence and gives it up for a normal life. The destruction of his youth being just the immature doings of a teenager that he eventually grew out of. Kinda changes the meaning of the story a little.
I read the original book and I agree with Kubrick. It doesn’t feel proper. It just feels thrown on, and to attribute all of Alex’s thrill for murder and ultra violence and rape to just being young and immature, is quite ridiculous.
Although Alex will be back to doing horrible things at least he will make his droogs who betrayed him suffer so at least they will get karma for doing the same terrible things Alex has done.
I take your comment as a "Go read the book! That's a good book, trust me, as good as the movie if not better!" Just added it on my list of stuff to do.
In the end, his Ludovico conditioning simply made him associate the 9th Symphony with sex and violence. If they're happy with that "cure," then why shouldn't he be?
It's not that bad, actors are usually confident enough not to be bothered and will usually be desensitised to it. It's really not that bad if you think about, i mean, we;ve all got one ;)
no, he didn't, Kubrick shot the movie adaptation from the US version of the book, that was only 20 chapters long, because the US editor didnt like the real ending, that HORRIBLE NONSENSE that chapter 21 is..
yeah thats the impression i got but i heard the book expands a lot more and this ending.and in a way i am surprised they did not add that final chapter to the book. but this ending works too because we can guess what happens next rather then being told.
I read somewhere that Kubrick read the epilogue and though it was ridiculous, too unrealistically optimistic or something, and personally I agree with him
I thought the book ending was better because I think it shows how all it can take is something cute and innocent like a baby in your life to enter a terrible persons twisted world and it can change them for good instead of going through all that work using the ludvico technique. They experience what everyone else should at least experience if the world wasn't so messed up.
What do you mean by madness? - do you mean the thing that made him jump out of a window after the ludovico treatment or his original violent attitude? He dreamt that doctors were messing with his head and when he listens to the music he realises he doesn't want to kill himself, he sees violent and sexual images as he used to. He was "cured" meaning that he was back to how he was at the beginning,
I use to say i wss cured alright in accent when i fooled around with my ex gf wed finish lighy off id wait for a dead silence and say it and shed laughed every time me and her saw this movie 100x master peice kubrik deff one of the best director between this 2001 oddesy and shinning great mind dude had be mad acid to get his vision all 3 movies the scoreing was creepy dark and just dark sounds
Grazie tante Marco per la capriola che abbiamo fatto insieme nel tuo bel lettone matrimoniale comodo comodo tu che tutto contento e felice sorridendo mi dicesti dai Giulio con le gambe divaricate
Has anyone ever wondered how directors, producers, or camera men must feel when filming a sex or nude scene? I mean, how akward would it feel to be completely naked in front of a camera and you filming up close? How did Stanley Kubrick do it?
I've done both. I wouldn't say the book is any better than the movie. Kubrick did an incredible job, and the book and movie are brilliant in their own right. Though the ending in the book wasn't as good as the movie. I know I've spoiled it, but I think the movie had the better ending.
Asi desaparescan la versión sin censura por fortuna soy de las personas que vio la pelicula tal cual como fue produciday esa versión nunca podran censurar. Explicita y cruda, pero con una intención bastante profunda.
What i dont understand is ,that team that took poison in his glas move him to a cabin why they låter drow him to hospital ? I mean their goal was to make him kill him self and he did survive the fall ..and they noticed this why dident they kille him quick and burry him to civer their misstanke ?
Their goal was to discredit the political party in power, their opposition, so they orchestrated Alex's attempted suicide as a means to do this. Alex went from being the one in control, the abuser, to becoming the abused, a pawn in a game of politics.
@@devinbell4816 I'm not sure, maybe is a dream pre-death, the rolling eyes and the twisted lips are common signs of embolism or natural death(there are some videos of old people dying on live streams with similar expression)
@@williampatrick2971Alex has formed a new gang, but violence and sex no longer interest him. He meets the only member of his old gang that hasn't turned on him, who has gotten married and similarly left his psychotic ways behind. Alex thinks maybe he should get married and have a kid too and that might be more worth his time. It's a pretty silly ending, saying he'd just "grow out" of his violent madness. And his buddy's wife either doesn't know her husband was a rapist or she knows and was fine with it...
