An overview of 3 different turbine heads. A Wessel Werk Tk 286, A Turbocat EX, and a Think crucial turbine head. Definitely made some mistakes in the recording process, but eh.

This was interesting. Turbo cat was a bit disappointing because I always thought that they were best of the turbine heads. Very bulky too, Wessel Werk was the best in my opinion. Miele now uses the same design. Third nozzle is clear the copy of Numatic numatic airo brush. It seems to work quite well also. Original is probably better. One key to turbo brushes working optimally is some kind of air release vents. Otherwise they wont spin. But you demonstrated it well in this video.I have Electrolux turbo brush and otherwise it's very good but the brushroll is spring loaded to the carpet and it doesn't have any air release valves. It really doesn't want to spin even with really powerful vacuums. I had to drill few air release holes front of it so it can spin.

Yes the turbocat has somewhat of a reputation, and the higher price tag would lead us to believe that, and while it does have some advantages like the high amount of brush torque and the ability to free stand. It deep cleaning ability won't be as good as the other two. Yes, the think crucial is similar to the aerobrush, I was searching for an aerobrush and came across this "replacement" head and i figured for the low price, why not?

For someone with a low pile carpet and a central vaccum would you suggest the turbocat or tk 286? Also great vid!

I'd go with the TK286. It's my favorite turbine head so far. I think the Turbocat may be better for a plusher carpeting due to it's high brush torque and lack of sealing to the surface but with the Tk having a sliding relief valve I could be wrong

Someday, you should test the turbo tools' effectiveness (at cleaning) by using them on different kinds of carpets and with those cheap Bissell's or Dirt Devil's that you could get at Walmart as well as the Shop-Vac's, the models of aforementioned brands using 1 1/4" accessories.

Perhaps. I think the Tk286 will perform the best of the 3 it's airflow is similar to the think crucial head but definitely has stiffer brushes so it should agitate better.

@@Blackheartvacs I hope so. I bought the TK 286 for the cheap bagless Bissell at my home (it's a Zing 2) and it did a decent job on the carpets. At some point, I asked a host of another vacuum cleaner related RU-vid channel to test the TK 286 with a Shop-Vac and he expressed refusal to do so by telling me that people don't use wet&dry cleaners for their homes so such test would be unnecessary. But, years ago, my mother did buy and use an All-Around model for her home.

@@raymondplouffe9521 Oh there are certainly people that do. I don't currently have a shop vac but I'll probably end up acquiring one when I move.Curious, did we discuss this on VL?
