Some are actual musicians and might have perfect pitch. But yeah, lots of people assume and follow others for internet points. Edit: for ppl replying: i said it because it can be kinda hard to differentiate the diffrence between major 7th and minor 7th chords. But yes, it might not apply to everyone. Idk its just somethin that's hard for me
It's interesting how self taught people who don't know theory can end up being the most prolific songwriters or players. I hope to be on Tyler's level soon 🤘🏾😁
He probably knows basic theory, but yes this is true. The Beatles for example were all self-taught musicians who didn't know much theory, but could write amazing songs.
@@gianluc2987 bruh who cares Sometimes people are indeed pianists. He probably knew what a major 7 chord is just as I know and just as I’m sure you know
hes one of the rapper and producer that actually produce, he creates his beat from scratch and he actually knows how to play the piano and compose and then rap...his songs arent just typical shitty migos but its an upgrade for contemporary rnb (im grade 8 and i absolutely have no talent in piano, plain forced out)
ava c LMAOO I got 8x the first time bc I had a panic attack and then 101 for the second one I also have to deliberately apply twice bc I know I'll fail the first grade 8 lmao
omg tell me about it, i thought i was going to have an asthma attack lmao. i don't know why i'm so worried, i have two more chances to repeat before the syllabus changes, but i've never filed a piano exam before. i can't stop thinking about it and i hate how long the results take to come out :///
@@joefitzgerald2762 listen to tyler play EARFQUAKE or I THINK those aren’t the same chords over and over. Tyler primarily uses Maj 7 as you can clearly see
Funny how y'all just turn into Music Theory experts in the comments lmao. But honestly, i think that Tyler has a very distinct style for whenever he plays piano, he really just plays whatever *feels* good to him. Which is why he uses all these 7ths chords and smashes the keyboard like hell, because he wants it to be big and powerful, also all the pianos he plays are always slightly out of tune, and that makes the sound feel more unique
Oh my god he's amazing with piano,I hope he keeps a recorder with him all the time so at least he can collect them..and like make a whole piano album..
Exactly what I was thinking, Tyler and Pharrell both like to use a lot of 7 chords in their production. I like using variation and extended harmony in my songwriting. It adds more spice than just basic triads
people in the comments bashing tyler pls keep in mind this man is self taught and either way it sounds good no he’s not beethoven but it’s not horrible. it’s pretty good i’m no pianist i play guitar so maybe me critique isn’t valid but i think it sounds really good so keep your negative comments to yourself.
How much he improved man, that shows that how practice can let you be be fucking fire. Tyler is a great example dude. He’s like goku be without the special cheat code and solely training his ass off
i don’t see what’s wrong with his presumably “shitty” or “messy” playing... it’s different, it’s unique. not everyone wants to hear prodigial beethoven level playing and that’s okay
me too. but damn... Ive been searching it for a year now and found nothing.. I think its off the top of his head or something, its hauntingly beautiful...
@@izayabrown7219 You're still missing the point, it's personal, obviously anybody that knows enough music theory can do something like this, but it wouldn't be the same thing.
@@izayabrown7219 Yeah and he's also using 2-5-1 progressions, no shit. But everybody has a personal way of playing, and besides that, it still sounds good.
every video here is atleast 2 years old , he’s still improving to this day . he would open Earfquake during his IGOR with him playing piano and he’s gotten really good .
