I accidentally messed up the first upload! Thanks for everyone who pointed out the timestamps were wrong, helped me notice that there wasn't something right! Here's the full fleshed out guide, enjoy :) -flow
hi!! could you perhaps please make a video on which controller is the best for every map? im a controller main and even though omen is my go to pick he falls short on some maps so a guide or a tier list of best controller for each map would be really helpful. 😄
Somehow astra was the only character I could understand and very ez, I think it's because of how her abilities are literally and figuratively separated from her normal gameplay.
i tried to main viper but as a beginner she's really hard for me, her ult and even after learning her lineups for hours in custom i forget them. For me astra is one of the easiest agent to learn as a beginner bc i can smoke from anywhere and no need to have a lineup to smoke let's say split screens when attacking. So yes her smokes make it more easy to focus in other stuff in game. I havent used her a lot still compared to viper( she made me learn a little about controllers but only her setups and not the fundamentals of every smoke) but im starting to use more her pull, still aint able to use the concuss properly but with some gamesense im getting used to it
I play casually completely without comms, and because I've been playing this way for so long I've developed the skill to be able to consistently know what's going using the minimap without it being detrimental to my gameplay, as well as getting a generally accurate read on both my opponents and teammates. In unranked, people generally tend to play much more predictably which makes it much easier. I only got astra as of today and since I am a semi viper main at this point, I'm not going in completely blind and I'm already LOVING astra. She's super fun, less spontaneous/impulsive gameplay and more planning which I love. This guide was super useful for me to be able to grasp the basics to play decently enough so that it's more enjoyable.
A tip I use a lot is that you can open your map in astral form so you can locate your teammates ping dangerous zone and where to plant in astral form while placing stars
Just started playing Valorant (First ever fps game, played league beforehand), and I have been having an absolute BLAST playing Astra. The amount of utility in her kit is so nice and her smokes are really good for holding positions and just not letting the enemy team peak you. Her Astral form is also surprisingly easy to get used to and I love comboing her suck or concuss with my friend's brimstone ult.
I remember having a nasty win rate with Astra even after the star nerfs and all that, but the map pool changes + other controllers being changed (Viper/Brim) started making her obsolete. Glad the pool is shifting slowly back in her favor, now I just need teammates who play well off utility. 🤣
Always try to combo, ask for mics. Edit: one sage slow will guarantee a centre pull, any Molly would combo well but killjoy traps are a death sentences in astra gravity wells, concussions guarantee a corner clearing kill utility (like raze grenades and Breach util), communicate well with your team and reap the benefits. Being nice and offering advice goes a long way. Toxicity really affects your gaming experience in this shooter game.
As a noob player that just got the game this character appeal to me more, but from reading her skills though she might be too much for me. Your video have motivated me to take a chance on her and learn her.
what would you say the usual cast per round for each piece of utility - to know you are fully making use of astra util? - I imagine you should be pushing 2.0 - 2.5 for smokes? - what about for grav well / nova pulse? 0.5?
