Again, I'll be hearting only important information I missed, corrections to the information I provided, and future strategies and tech. He are some things I had to leave out due to time restrictions on production (or I frogor): Analysis - (should've been stressed more in the video) The BEST way to learn new things is by watching how experienced players play and see if you can replicate it for yourself. If it works, it works! Netherite PVP - It's similar to diamond pvp as all you need it kb 1 to combo like diamond. As for grinding, mine at ~y = 15 between chunk borders (f3+g), you can either bed mine (blocking yourself off from a bed and exploding it), tnt mine (mining a long tunnel and placing tnt on every other block), or sweep mine (holding left click with at least an efficiency 2 diamond pick and digging a wide tunnel). Stasis Chambers - get a 7 deep bubble column using soulsand and throw your pearl down directly. There's a way to make on using honey but you'll have to search a tutorial on that. String Duper (UPDATE!!) - In versions 1.22+ String dupers have been patched!! Use the other methods shown in the video to obtain emeralds, since the most OP method is patched! Play.smppvp.com is also a good server to practice, definitely give it a try! In the case the server allows maces and no slowfalling or you just don’t have it yet, you can use scaffolding to break the fall of your opponent, nullifying their mace attack. (Purely experimental) I'll add more stuff if I remember anything!
- nobody is stopping you from attribute swapping/using a cooldown trick every hit, meaning it is *technically* the best way to disable, you can also stun while doing a doubleclick during attribute swap - if you axe main, you can try baiting the enemy into hold S trades, where both of you sprint/crit and immediately hold S, if they are using sword they're gonna lose health-wise - shield is inactive for 250ms (quarter of a second) + your ping so 100ms player has 350ms shield activation time - netherite armor doesnt get chipped by fire, so not using fire resistance is viable (theoretically viable in diamond too) because you mess with your damage ticks, making you extremely hard to combo - sword benefits from strength much more than axe, consider maining axe in strength 0-1 scenarios - dont jump if you have speed 2, its faster to sprint on the ground over sprint jumping - webs arent in tierlist smp kit for three reasons, neither of them being inventory inefficiency. They weren't commonly used while the kit was created, which led to people preferring webless version of the kit, because fighting with cobwebs can be VERY infuriating. Cobwebs allow for very unfun tactics, which go against competitive spirit of the kit. Also stack of webs will run out slower than stack of pearls considering you use pearls more often than webs AND pearls stack up to 16 - I really wished you elaborated, even if only slightly on explosion damage. You can block basically the entire explosion with one block, thus placing 5 obsidian around and under you makes you unkillable by any (grounded) traps - I wont comment much on commentary (lol), but I'll add that having shield should be added to advantages/disadvantages, considering you can block all of their hits while they can't, making health advantage not as valuable (sometimes its better to trade a shield for a free hit, but sometimes to keep it for easier pressure) - 35:30 Kairyu Negative (Morals) - DONT use gcarrots during the encounter, you were really close to dropping multiple times, gapping instead would be much better for your survibility - clerics are the easiest source of renewable pearls, enchanted bottles (mending) and redstone/glowstone (for potions), while buying gold (easy to get from gold farms/bastions) After watching this video for 5x longer than any normal person should I can say that despite the amount of corrections this is the best pvp guide I saw on and off the youtube, good job 9/10
@@KairyuYT im planning on releasing very long and comprehensive one (once I get lt3 in most gms), but yeah we lack good guides. The best two I saw are from Intel and Yuval (on pvp guide discord server) and both are sword 😭😭😭😭😭
about the obsidian thing, minecarts have (or had, no idea if they've patched it already) some very interesting physics when they explode in a group, basically minecarts can clip through around ~32 blocks (you can test the range or if it even works yourself, I saw this in some random prison video a while ago and my info might not be very accurate), very useful when disabling chunk bans
@@KairyuYT that will take some time as im average ht4 in most (lt3 sword and smp, ht4 nethpot and axe, rest lt4), and have few other things to do, but I'll do my best o7
Something I think is very underrated as a SMP player is the slot that is under the offhand which is where your cursor always lands when opening your inventory. This slot is basically just another hotbar slot if quick enough and used to auto swap almost. Some ways to use: -Totem -Sheld -XP -Flame Bow (I use a bow in offhand when carting can be used to save that extra slot and swap on and off with other items) -Buckets (mostly for drain players)
kinda nice to see a chill video about pvp, i have a deep appreciation for that combat system, different playstyles and comboing. its very fun despite how toxic the player base is
Some speedrunner tech here: If you are trying to find a cave and there aren't any exposed to the surface, don't dig down randomly. Instead find a water pool and dig down there. You will have a higher chance of hitting caves. (This is due to how Minecraft terrain generation works i don't really understand it)
@@rafaelopitz if you only used subtitles you still would have to be careful because its not guaranteed lava makes a sound it only makes a sound occasionally
It is also useful to carry 4-6 sets speed 2 (alongside with some ice blocks) if incase you don’t plan on fighting or get jumped. Because more players are starting to use speed 1 or no speed at all.
Fell in love with this channel, sad to see it end but damn, you just posted the best guide on this entire fcking platform i kinda dont want others to see this vid cuz its just too good 😅
Its finally wraps... GGs gang. Had fun using all these strats against my friends and pissing them off :] Thanks for this, sad to see this channel being retired. BUT this video is still insanely good. TYSM Btw, you can riptide trident and pearl to go even farther or chase Forget to mention instead of long pearling, like (i think) he said, you can just jump while running and throw the pearl more perpendicular to the ground to make it land sooner.
yoo im so glad to hear someone else talk about positive neutral and negative positions, ive had that idea in my mind for a long time cuz i used to play platform fighters where its used commonly, and i realized same thing can be used for mc pvp too, although keeping track of your positive/neutral/negative position outside of the engagements (basically keeping a vague track of eachothers resources) is something you should also do, and act upon depending on what state youre in (if youre negative you play drain, if youre positive you can pressure etc, and then in neutral you can pick between those two) i also think that acting upon your enemy and exploiting their weaknesses is also a very good skill to have, for example if someone cant handle axe shielding, you can keep using it, or if you notice that they disengage late, you can try to stay in a positive state and play more agro when you think theyre low, to catch them off guard for a kill. keeping track of your enemies habits is also really good (especially useful if you fight them multiple times), knowing when theyre gonna shield, how they act when theyre low, their playstyle, how to counter their strategies etc. and make sure they arent reading you, so switch up your acting (only if what youre doing isnt working anymore and you have a feeling theyre reading you) otherwise this video is really good !!
Your videos are very good and you teach the mechanics very well, even though I'm from Brazil I can perfectly understand what you show or what you say, congratulations.
Potions of weaving can also be used to move faster through cobwebs if you want to conserve pearls or do not have any quick methods of getting out of them. Edit: it changes your speed when you are on the ground in a cobweb from 25% to 50%.
@@SecndBestBan yup! Really good video, into the playlist in the description! Also here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h81uieP8L5E.htmlsi=p8p9nlq1pPG3GM-S
Great tutorial! Tells almost every good strategy in diamond smp. But I would add shears effiency 5 bc you can break webs way faster (this combined whit buttons is op countter to webshield) Also windcharges are realy big meta now since you can just jump high to safely heal, this works even if large amount of players are chasing you.
4:59 it’s simple Pythagoras theorem. a^2+b^2=c^2. a and b will always be smaller than c, and since c is the hypotenuse (representing the distance when someone is looking down from a ledge), it will be easier for someone Lower than them to start getting hits for free,
This is literally the only pvp guide that has helped me, it was sad to hear in your previous video when you said this channel was temporary, hopefully we get more guides like this. Kairyu is one of the best pvpers ik, because he can explain the tactics and stratsto get better, which most youtubers often forget to do. Im pretty sure im one of your early subscribers and if you start posting smp stuff on your main channel which you mentioned to me before, im sure it will grow alot.
Fun Fact: If you made a string duper and used it for long enough that you have maxed out fisherman, but then admins tell you "Nuh uh, string dupers aren't allowed!", you can use boats, which are the most profitable money making method FOR REFERENCE: A fletcherman buys 32 sticks for an emerald, which is 16 planks A fisherman buys a boat for an emerald, which is 5 planks Meaning, the boat method is triple as efficient than sticks! (not in inventory space though) And unless the tick speed is increased, this is probably better than waiting for your pumpkins to grow. However, I feel like unlocking the boat trade is gonna be extremely painful since its gonna require a lot of either emeralds or fishing.
@@xXChoccyMilkXx 1. have already mentioned that. still shouldnt be a problem. 2. i know 3. im talking about emerald making here, not "which villager job is the most useful" 4. ok fair enough but that might just be a bit tedious
They only have a stock of 12 rather than 16, great thing about melons/pumpkins is they have a combined stock of 24. It is still technically viable though
i will say that with speed 2 you can combo people with speed 0-1 much easier and can get out of webs faster so using a mix of strength 2 and speed 2 is pretty viable
@@InvisibleThing Well, half right. Momentum reach is a real effect, but it's caused by ping. When you move forwards, you move forwards instantly on your own monitor. However, you don't move forwards (and therefore closer to your opponent) on your opponent's machine until the packets get there. Inversely, when your opponent moves backwards, they move away from you instantly on their machine, but you don't "find out" they moved away until the delay. This effect allows combos, where you run forwards while your opponent takes knockback, to prevent your opponent from hitting you back as you are moving quickly forwards but delayed in receiving their "move away" packets.
holy shit this is beautiful like genuinely thank you so much for this, I also love the little animations, they add so much. what software did you use to make them?
fun lil fact (that everyone might know): every fights that involves armors with unbreaking enchantment are a bit rng-based with the durability drain also sad to see u go, one of my biggest pvp inspiration :(
Most SMPs nowadays use the datapack "infinite restock for villagers" and with that villagers never show the "x" mark on their trades, by using that, a small amount of people cure a zombie villager make him into a cartographer, upgrade him so he sells 4 glass panes for 1 emerald, and then set up a librarian (i suggest you've found a book first like mending or prot on that villager) upgrade him too so he sells 1 emerald for 4 glass, buy 8 glass and craft them into 16 glass panes and trade them for more emeralds (this can also be used as an xp farm, since trading with villagers gives xp)
one strategy I have found useful for grinding is to use the premade villager crop farms and building a box around it, then transporting the villagers out with the same design showed in the automatic section of the video. hope this helps :3
Bro you are criminally underrated. When I saw the first few seconds of this video I thought you had a few million subscribers, but no, you have under 5000. The production quality is peak, and the thoroughness is exactly what I'd hope for out of any guide, but almost no one does it. Big props tp you man. But I have to ask. Is this your first time creating content / your first channel? If yes, then I am impressed beyond end
im glad that you brought ping into consideration because it will be almost impossible to combo high ping players and very difficult to fight them as like you said they go through webs and like tp around a lot.
personally I like to focus on mechanics like shielding and combing rather than using utilities to their max potential but maybe that’s just my smp kit side thinking
40:45 I want to inform everyone that f3+a is only possible when using optifine (can be pulled off on sodium if the entity is behind a 1 block wall) so using it is literally at the same level as using xray, just for entities. I recommend asking your local smp owner if f3+a is allowed in the server, and if it isn't written down anywhere ask him to put it in the rules or sth. So no one gets an unfair advantage, just because they're using an obscure bug in a mod
Alot off servers dont allowe pie ray+entity count to find traps so be careful when they arent allowed. U can also use chorus fruit to tp do the ground if your high up.
27:02 Untrue, you can get the same result if you insta cart. You're doing the slow way by looking up and barely charging your bow. If you double click or burst click with your rail and cart. You can get the same result but faster. Ofc, just taking more skill. If you have 80-100ms, it's the sweet spot to do fully charged insta carts. Since your ping delay affects your arrow registration speed, allowing more time to place a rail and a cart. 27:28 ik, you corrected yourself in the editing but i personally like to use regular blocks over slabs. The speed isn't affected, only the difficulty. Since regular blocks are just way more useful than slabs.
gonna be honest idk how to fight ppl with swords so i just gun ppl down with crossbows + tipped arrows and fireworks. i should learn this though to have a fuller toolkit
The thing I hate about using garrots for sat, is you either have to eat twice because an exchange went on too long or you are waiting for like, 15 seconds to eat
Ending off with a banger i see. Ye, I always thought diamond SMP should be a pvp gamemode, same goes with cart. Especially considering half the tl gamemodes aren't even useful in vanilla SMPs
If you don’t have cobs you can possibly carry a lava bucket as a replacement, though this would only work as a replacement to head webbing and you need to get your lava back before the opponent places water
I did mention how the stun leaves you in the air, which was implied to allow you to web or start a combo. Still some peeps might’ve missed it. This is truth
Counter cobbing can also be countered by simply crouching and not holding w if done at the right timing you can crit which sometimes doesn't make counter cobbing a neutral position. The same can be done with water and lava just a lot harder due to you not being held in place.
You also didn't go over how to use the shield but only when to disable it. Some ways to shield are fast shielding (as shown in the video), Shield sacrificing (which is putting up your shield then auto hitting which works really well when in a crit chain or combo), and Shield values which are values for when you should hold your shield such as when you're about to be put in a combo or crit chain.
by the way you can also download some mods like motion blur effect status armor hud inventory hud gamma utils and more that should improve your survival skills and pvp
Boats in some cases can be used to escape cobwebs and can be used to reduce cart damage when ridden as long as the cart was not shot with a full charged bow (its wierd)
Another main way to get emeralds is raid farms. Before 1.21, raid farms where so easy and op to build. Now, in 1.21, raid farms are more difficult to build but are insanely op in late-game villager trading.
@@GreekgamingGoat poorly demonstrated in the video but with pearls if aimed correctly you can portal without being next to it. Otherwise this is the strat idk why other people don’t do this 😭
I’m not 100% sure if this still works but you can at least used to be able to time placing water and lava in your portal so you can both go through and break it, so if they don’t have flint and steel then you can easily escape
