Non Texans now living here have no idea what real heat is. The summer of 1980 had over 75 days over 100 degrees. The high temp reached 115 that summer. This summer has been mild compared to 1980.
Bring it on in north central Oregon. Lots of rain please, one county fair had to be cancelled due to extreme lightening and fires. Hoping so many in heat get relief.
The cooling trend is very welcoming! I’m wondering how this will affect the tracks of any developing hurricanes this September. Also, I’ve been hearing chatter about the “Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation” (AMO) and how that might be trending downward meaning possibly less hurricanes. If you have any comments about that, thanks Ponder!
It’s not going to be as bullish as some of the previous forecast you may have heard. In fact, the NHC came out today that now it’s a 55% chance for a normal 14 storm season.
Several years back in the Dakotas, I remember having a killing frost on the 23? of Aug. But that did not change the weather to autumn right then, Sept, was still quite warm.
Seeing that we will continue the tend of staying around 105 for Phoenix is very good. Last year we were averaging 118 degrees for this time of year, sooo happy

I'm at the centennial park splash pad in Midland it's 99 Tx right now downtown....I haven't broken a sweat...love dry heat in the shade with the wind blowing! The mornings are even better .....😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Been normal nice weather cycle in Boulder Colorado warm but not to hot with some isolated short monsoon rains very pretty saw numerous rainbows today. We had a heat and dry pattern then abnormally cold fall temps for a few days now in this wetter nicer cycle.
Yes, I like it when they speak slowly, and explain things well. There are others who speak very quickly and you can't understand anything. I'm the only Mexican who watches these videos. I love the weather. I'm from Tijuana Baja.
Our weather here in southern Oklahoma is quite typical for summer. We start getting 100s in early July with little or no rain. The hot tmps continue until early September. Nice and hot and normal conditions...
Our local Midwest forecast for the upcoming weekend in Iowa and Illinois is 92-95 , which is a bummer for me since i am taking my Grandson to an outdoor ballgame on Sunday . But, we will prevail, heat or not !
amazing that we are seen frontal boundaries in to florida in late august. i think mother nature is smoking crack or something 🤣🤣 until now i have never seen frontal system plunging in to florida this early. its really bizarre i saw a report a year ago that said that we are heading in to a cooling period and by the looks of it i think its materializing right now. this winter season could be one for the records

I do think that with such a sharp NAO drop, the temperature drops are going to be strong for an extended period which against that ridging could create a new hotspot for severe activity, but also more fronts sweeping by may cause these tropical systems to have a tendency to recurve northwards, and might just be what the gfs was hinting earlier, although a caveat is stalled frontal boundaries leave that moisture behind for systems, especially in the Gulf of Mexico. @POW Ponder on Weather
Its currently 5pm, in SW WA state, and all day its been cooling down w/occasional slight mist. Cool down, yes, to mid-upper 70’s, & still pleasant. to be honest as a SIXTY yr old born, raised PC/NW resident, who’s How privileged enough to do quite a bit of travel to tell me that there’s no place most enjoyable most beautiful to live, then in the Pacific Northwest…We don’t get tornadoes or hurricanes and we get a little bit of snow in the winter if you live in higher elevations might stick around for a month but we don’t get any severe weather here we just get definite seasons the only thing that makes it intolerable living in Oregon and Washington are the liberal woke morons!!!!

While optimum weather is 50 to 74 degrees with 60s Fahrenheit being best, also like cold weather & snow😊🎂 Let's hope that Farmer's almanac 2024 fall forecast (cooler) is right while AccuWeather fall 2024 (paul pastelok) is wrong. I'm hopecasting & wishcasting snow😊. My guess is a few of you are also. Finally, here's what we must do to lower greenhouse gases-atoms energy (esp smr), hydroelectric dams, geothermal, carbon capture, lighter colored roads & gardening. Energy efficient cars. Any ideas others have on what to do to lower greenhouse gases ?
