Oh, I love their dry and subtle sense of humour all the way through this. Great information and beautiful work. I loved the way Neila's batt looked like a beautiful painting all on its own, after carding.

Chuckled away to myself as I watched. Thanks so much for sharing. Isn't it wonderful that we're all same but different. Makes the world an interesting place.

Thanks so much, Elizabeth and Niela! It's so good to be "with" you both for a bit and be informed and inspired by your carding methods!

As a spinner, I have to stand with Elizabeth...I hate glitter in my fiber...🤦😆

I'm Australian and I've never seen glitter in fleece. I'm sure it doesn't grow there - or at least, it doesn't in the less "primitive" breeds of sheep we have here. And, I'm with you, I definitely wouldn't want glitter in the fleece.

Wonderful video, thank yo so much! One thought on the staple of the wool; If the sheep was sheared at the rise, at the right time, you would not have to pull anything off. Also if the fleece is roo'd instead of sheared there is no break in the wool.

tessen58 if the fleece is roo'd then the last years fleece only is removed and ALL of the new fleece stays on the Sheep. If it is sheared AT THE RIGHT TIME and at the SKIN, then you may have only the old fleece and none of the new fleece. You need to realise that where the old fleece and the rise meet is not a break in the wool - the rise part is a new fibre that is growing and pushing the old fibre out of the hair follicle. The reason that primitively sheep can be roo'd is that the fleece stops growing in the winter and they start growing a new fleece in the spring - the new fleece and the old fleece are not attached. If the old and new fibres were attached you would not be able to pull the old fleece off.
