The Reverend Dr. Andrew Bennett is the Faith Community Program Director at Cardus, an Ontario-based think tank devoted to reimagining institutional life for the common good. He is also an ordained deacon in the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in the Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada. Fr. Deacon Andrew served as Canada's first Ambassador for Religious Freedom and led Global Affairs Canada's Office of Religious Freedom from 2013 to 2016. He holds degrees from Dalhousie University, McGill, and the University of Edinburgh.
In this conversation, Fr. Deacon Andrew and Houston Centre director Dr. Jens Zimmermann discuss Fr. Andrew's intellectual formation, the threats posed to human dignity by Canada's Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) legislation, the practical application of the truth of the imago dei, the freedom found in limits, and much more.
