“I’ve found that people are scared of color. Why? Because picking the right one is difficult, which is why I compare it to a wardrobe. It’s much easier to dress in all black then to put five different colors on and look good. I like to mix and let them insult each other, have an argument. When they’re too perfect, it’s boring.”
India Mahdavi founded her studio in Paris 1999, and today she run her shop, showroom and studio from the same street in Paris, taking on a variety of projects ranging from interiors, architecture, installations and furniture. Her spaces, such as The Gallery Restaurant at Sketch in London, always have a strong visual signature. Welcome to an informal talk with India Mahdavi on spaces, colors and visions in interiors.
